Day 1

Welcome to Nice!

This afternoon, the Mummu Cycling team will greet you at Nice airport to then transfer to our hotel for the week located in the heart of the gorgeous coastal city of Nice, amidst the Côte d’Azur and hugging the stunning Mediterranean coastline.

On arrival, take some time to settle in and freshen up ahead of our welcome cocktail evening. Here, will present the perfect opportunity to unwind post travel and toast to the week ahead, as well as hearing from special guest, Lloyd Thomas from Cycle Fit. Cycle Fit excel in offering advanced, analytical bike fits, using the latest technology and scientific theories. They have a credible reputation within the pro cycling world itself and have done fits for a number of high profile athletes, including: Tony Martin, Dan Martin, Wout Van Der Poel and the former BMC team. Lloyd will be sharing his knowledge and insider perspective on how bike fit affects performance, throughout the evening to help set the scene for what will undoubtedly be a fantastic week ahead at the Tour de France!

Following breakfast, enjoy an optional light ‘early’ morning spin around Nice’s stunning local surrounds. The perfect way to start the day and free the mind ahead of a big day of learning on the radar.

Take some time to freshen up before we get underway with our first morning Science of Cycling conference. Today, there will be three conferences in total, with breaks in between, including lunch. The evening conference will also include networking.

Tonight, we’ll enjoy a group dinner to cheers to today’s efforts!

Today will be a busy day!

Enjoy a good breakfast to fuel well and ensure the mind is raring to go, ahead of a big day of learning on the radar.

Take some time to freshen up before we get underway with our first morning Science of Cycling conference. Today, there will be three conferences in total, with breaks in between, including lunch. The evening conference will also include networking.

Spectators and families not taking part in the conference will be off on their own adventures – today, Monaco bound! Well known for its stunning harbor, lined with beautiful yachts and the scenic Monte-Carlo – Monaco is a must-see when travelling along the elegant shores of the French Riviera.

Tonight, we’ll enjoy a group dinner to cheers to today’s efforts!

Tour de France Opening Team Presentation

Today, will be much the same as yesterday, with a tight schedule of three Science of Cycling conferences on the menu. Riders, will again have the opportunity this morning to set out on a light, early ride to start the day well. Concluding a leisurely spin, with a healthy dose of vitamin D and some sea breeze, we’ll get stuck into things!

Once the hard work is done, you will have the spectacular grand opening of the Tour de France to look forward to as the world’s best cyclists and professional teams, take to the stage for the official 2020 team’s presentation! This is an incredibly festive, exciting experience that will  have you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated following another busy day.

Concluding the presentation, we will enjoy a group dinner in the buzzing downtown centre of Nice.

Tour de France Opening Team Presentation

Today will be much the same as yesterday, with a tight schedule of three Science of Cycling conferences on the menu.

Spectators and families not taking part in the conference, will be jumping on the train to explore the neighbouring medieval hilltop village of Eze. Famous for its incredible views outlooking the French Riviera, outstanding architecture and delightful artisan shops…Eze is a morning well spent!

Once the hard work is done at the conferences, you will have the spectacular grand opening of the Tour de France to look forward to as the world’s best cyclists and professional teams take to the stage for the official 2020 team’s presentation! This is an incredibly festive, exciting experience that will have you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated following another busy day.

Concluding the presentation, we will enjoy a group dinner in the buzzing downtown centre of Nice.

Ride time + Pro Team Meet & Greet

Most of the hard work is behind you now, so let the fun and games well and truly begin!

Following breakfast, we will hit the surrounding mountains of the incredible Côte d’Azur for a more challenging, undulating ride. Time to get the HR up and the climbing legs out of the bag to celebrate the Tour de France, 2020 teeing off tomorrow.

Concluding a solid 50km adventure and some vertical metres ticked, take some time to freshen up before we set out to meet up with a pro team, while they avidly prepare for race day tomorrow.

You will specifically meet the team doctors and medical staff to gather some great insight into life on the road as a medical professional, in support of elite cyclists – from their adopted methods, many protocols and responsibilities within the team.

Following what we expect will be a very insightful discussion, we will make our way into downtown Nice, where the evening will be at your leisure to enjoy the city festivities and local hotspots.

Ride time + Pro Team Meet & Greet

Following a busy few days, it’s time to enjoy a much deserved relaxed morning at your leisure. Take the time to explore, perhaps chill-out on the beautiful Nice coastline ahead of a busy afternoon, or jump on board with our ride support crew where you’ll have the opportunity to cheer on our riding contingent as they tackle the daring Cote d’Azur mountains. Also a nice chance to witness the stunning views and incredibly lush, scenic surroundings yourself.

Concluding the morning’s adventure/relax, take some time to freshen up before we set out to meet up with a pro team, while they avidly prepare for race day tomorrow.

You will specifically meet the team doctors and medical staff to gather some great insight into life on the road as a medical professional, in support of elite cyclists – from their adopted methods, many protocols and responsibilities within the team.

Day 5

The Grand Depart - It's go time!

June 26, 2020 / Difficulty
/ Distance 60 km / 37 miles

Today the Tour de France, 2020 officially gets underway as the riders set out to tackle stage one, including the Cote d’Aspremont ascent and three laps of a punchy circuit. The stage will certainly prove challenging, yet has been designed to suit the sprinters, likely resulting in a fast and furious dash to the line along Nice’s Promenade des Anglais. The prestigious first Yellow Jersey of 2020 awaits at the finish and we’ll be there to witness it all, as the winner raises their arms ecstatically in triumph!

To start our day with a bang, concluding breakfast, we’ll be setting out to the Stage start to explore the festive village and take in the Tour de France excitement as likeminded fans line the streets passionately, awaiting the pros to arrive and the show to begin.

Riders will then hit the bikes, to tackle a lumpy 60km loop that will no doubt have you working hard throughout. The efforts will be rewarded superbly, however with incredible views and the completion of the ride at todays stage finish. We’ll then set up camp, right in the thick of the electric atmosphere, to await the action and that final expected throw to the line!

Following a busy afternoon at the Tour de France, we will return to the hotel in time to freshen up ahead of this evening’s dinner and seminar.

The Grand Depart - It's go time!

June 26, 2020

Today the Tour de France, 2020 officially gets underway as the riders set out to tackle stage one, including the Cote d’Aspremont ascent and three laps of a punchy circuit.
