Welcome to Adelaide!
Welcome to Adelaide and the start of your ‘Bike for Bushfires’ Adelaide Hills experience!
We hope you’re as excited as we are about three solid days of riding through the stunning Adelaide Hills, led out by local hero, former pro cycling legend and current Santos Tour Down Under race director, Stuart O’Grady.
The Mummu Cycling team will meet you at the airport at 9am. We will then transfer to our incredible accommodation atop Adelaide’s iconic Mount Lofty, in the Mount Lofty house. Hint: We hope you like views, and a bit of climbing!
*Please note that the necessary extra hygiene and spacing protocols will be applied during transfers and at all times on tour.
On arrival, take some time to check-in and settle, before regrouping for a spot of lunch, followed by meeting with the Factor Bikes Technical Director, Andy Naylor who alongside our team, will assist you with setting up your bikes so you’re ready to rock for this afternoon’s rolling hills ride.
Once everyone is fuelled and ready to ride, Stuey will lead you out on one of his favourite local rolling hills routes via Lobethal and Fox Creek. Today, the pace will be fairly relaxed, giving you a nice opportunity to acclimatise, enjoy the stunning scenery while you’re at it and prepare for a big weekend to come!
Post ride, enjoy some time to refresh and relax, before meeting for this evening’s group welcome dinner.
Now will mark a fantastic occasion to get to know Stuey and your fellow guests, chat all things cycling and toast to the exciting adventures ahead!
The Adelaide Hills are calling!
This morning, enjoy a nutritious early breakfast as today will be a solid morning out in the beautiful, yet testing Adelaide hills on a loop ride out to the Santos Tour Down Under famous, Willunga Hill!
Stuey knows the Adelaide Hills like the back of his hand, having trained hours on end through the undulating countryside throughout his extensive cycling career and beyond. He’ll be leading the way on today’s ‘endurance ride’. Prepare yourself for a solid, yet rewarding day on the pedals!
Ride support will be on hand all day, offering refreshments, electrolytes, gels, bars, as well as cool cokes and snacks for when that much needed sugar boost comes…
Towards the end of the ride we will make a pitstop for a well deserved relaxed lunch at one of Stuey’s favourite wineries. When in Adelaide, it would be rude not to, right?!
On arrival back to the hotel, take some time out to freshen up and relax. You’ll then enjoy a much deserved 20 minute flush massage to ensure your no doubt tired legs get some attention and extra recovery to ensure you’re raring to go again tomorrow!
At 4pm Andy from Factor Bikes will then be running a 1 hour seminar/discussion talking you through the world class range of Factor Bikes. Any questions you have regarding their bikes, now will be a fantastic time to ask and learn everything you need to know from an expert.
This evening we will enjoy a group dinner at a reputable local restaurant, recommended by Stuey. Cheers to the cracking day that’s been, clocking km’s through Adeliade’s glorious hills!

Learn all the tricks of the trade from Stuart O'Grady
This morning following breakfast, Stuey will be holding a ‘bike handling and training’ seminar.
Here, you’ll be able to learn in detail from one of the best in the biz. Stuey raced professionally for just shy of 20 years and has won some of the biggest races in the sport, including arguably the most technically challenging race there is, Paris-Roubaix.
So, we can confidently say, he knows a tip or two about bike handling! He’ll be offering advice and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have throughout. Descending technique, sprinting, cornering…the works.
He’ll then go on to discuss training methods, what worked for him, what’s the go in pro cycling today and what may work for you.
We’ll then put your learnings to the test by heading out for our final ride late morning where we’ll throw in some structured intervals along the way to really get the legs burning…if you so desire!
Following another big day in the saddle, we’ll return for well earned post-ride group lunch to round out the weekend on a high.
It’ll then be time to prepare for departure and your transfer back to Adelaide airport at 3pm.
We trust you’ve had a memorable weekend with Stuey, Mummu Cycling and Factor Bikes. Thank you for your support and hope to have you back on tour with us again, crushing climbs soon!
