Day 1

TdF Rest Day: Andorra

This morning the Mummu Cycling team pick guests up from Marseille Airport ready for an action packed 12 days of Le Tour ahead! Following introductions we will make our way towards our chateau accommodation near Beziers. Upon arrival we will check-in to our home for the next 3 nights and get ready for an easy ride around the area to stretch our legs. Those of us not riding can enjoy Beziers on foot this afternoon.

The Mummu Cycling team will host a welcome dinner at the hotel this evening for you to get to know your new found friends and to talk tour!

Today’s ride: Easy 30-40km ride to stretch the legs

Day 2

VIP Relais Etape in Revel

July 12, 2016 / Difficulty
TDF Stage 10: Andorra la Vella – Revel, 198km

We will enjoy a relaxing morning before loading our bikes into our van and driving towards Carcassonne to ride the final 50km of the stage under closed roads. We will enjoy the afternoon in the VIP Relais Etapes, an exclusive VIP hospitality area located located in prime position on the edge of the road for the viewing of the caravan and the race where we will watch the peloton complete the stage with much more ease than ourselves.

After the stage finish we will head back to our hotel for dinner at your leisure in town.

Today’s ride: 70km of rolling hills on closed roads just before the peloton.

Day 3

VIP Stage Finish in Montpellier

TDF Stage 11: Carcassonne – Montpellier, 164km

Enjoy a later start this morning before we saddle up for a 70km ride through the fields towards the finish town of Montpellier where we will lead the peloton, riding the course under closed roads just hours before the race. Hear the roar of the crowds as you ride into the finish line where we will follow the same route as the pros onto the podium for a photo. We will then enjoy VIP hospitality at the stage finish to watch the pros race for the stage win.

After our amazing afternoon we will have the option of riding back to our hotel or heading back in our van. Dinner will be at your leisure tonight to celebrate the incredible day.

Day 4

Transfer to Avignon

TDF Stage 12:  Montpellier – Mont Ventoux, 185km

We will ride out of our hotel towards the stage start in Montpellier where we will enjoy exclusive access inside the Village including a breakfast with Tour de France personalities. Visit the team bus area with an opportunity to meet with riders, sport directors and journalists and get close to the departure podium and be part of the pro autograph session.

After cheering on the pros from the departure we will quickly head in our van to beat the riders into Bedoin where a picnic lunch will be waiting as we watch the riders begin the ascent of Mont Ventoux.

After a long and rewarding day, we will drive to our new accommodation where you can enjoy dinner at your leisure!

Day 5

Mont Ventoux

TDF Stage 13: Bourg-Saint-Andéol – La Caverne du Pont-d’Arc, 37km

Today, we will tackle the Giant! Today is the day our riders saddle up and follow the pros footsteps in climbing the momentous Mont Ventoux. For those prepared to be part of this challenge, today will be a long day in the open air, a packed lunch will be supplied to help our riders get through!

Spectators will have the opportunity to head into Avignon for the day and experience the amazing city on foot. The annual Festival d’Avignon, a famous theatre festival, takes place in the month of July and coincides with our visit to the city. The festival comprises traditional theatrical events as well as other art forms such as dance, music, and cinema, making good use of the town’s historical monuments. This is a fanatic opportunity to see some of the famous French arts scene.

After a challenging day on the bike, we will regroup at the hotel in the evening for a group dinner.

Day 6

Transfer Day

Tdf Stage 14:  Montélimar – Villars-les-Dombes Parc des Oiseaux, 208km

It’s time to pack up and say goodbye to Avignon as we head to toward Lyon where we will spend the next two nights on tour. We will set out after an early breakfast checking-out and making our way to our new hotel. After checking-in and freshening up, the group will head out for a ride to the stage finish in Villars-les-Dombes with the plan to find a spot to watch the peloton pass through at the stage finish.

We transport everyone back to the hotel for a group dinner hosted by staff followed by an early night ready for a big day ahead.

Today’s ride: Fairly flat 40-80km ride with some climbs

Day 7

VIP Departure Village in Bourg-en-Bresse

July 17, 2016 / Difficulty
TDF Stage 15:  Bourg-en-Bresse – Culoz, 159km

Today we will enjoy a special VIP Experience going behind the scenes at the Stage 15 start in Bourg-en-Bresse. The riders in the group will head off early on a fairly flat ride to Bourg-en-Bresse as spectating guests will drive similar roads to join up at the Departure Village. Here the group will take in the festivities of a stage start including access to the team buses, opportunity to meet riders and sports directors all while enjoying a smorgasbord of French delicacies.

Following a VIP tour of the departure and a photo on the signing podium, we will watch as the riders roll out for Stage 15. The group will board our van to head back towards Lyon to catch the final kilometres of the stage on TV.

Dinner will be at your leisure in this evening with plenty to see and eat in the town of Lyon.

Day 8

Ride the Course before the Pros in Bern

TDF Stage 16: Moirans-en-Montagne – Berne, 206km

Today will be a another amazing Tour de France experience for riders and spectators alike. Following breakfast, the group will check out and transfer from Lyon into Switzerland as the tour arrives into the home of cycling legend, Fabian Cancellara.

Riders will enjoy a special treat being able to ride the final 50km of today’s stage on closed roads to the exclusive VIP Hospitality area, Relais Etape in Bern. Our non-riders will continue to the hospitality area. Together the group will enjoy a seated lunch, free flowing drinks and the best seats in the house as the pros speed past on the same roads just riden.

After the stage finish, the group will transfer to our new hotel close to Lake Geneva where Mummu Cycling staff will host the group to dinner.

Day 9

UCI Experience

TDF Rest Day: Berne

After yesterday’s excitement enjoy a later breakfast before the group travels down the mountain to the UCI Headquarters in Aigle where you get to experience the thrill of riding the velodrome! We will enjoy lunch and a behind the scenes tour of the offices of cycling’s world governing body before continuing to our hotel.

Dinner will be at your leisure tonight in the jazz city of Montreax with views over Lake Geneva which will take your breath away!

Day 10

Col du Pillon and Col de la Croix

July 20, 2016 / Difficulty
TDF Stage 17: Berne – Finhaut-Emosson, 184km

The Tour will pass only 8km from our hotel today but before that our riders will tackle two of Switzerland’s most beautiful mountain passes, Col du Pillon and Col de la Croix. The  challenging 65km loop includes over 2,000m of climbing but will descend in Aigle where we will secure a spot on the roadside as the tour approaches. Here the group will enjoy a picnic lunch as the peloton passes through en route to the Stage 17 finish in Finhaut-Emosson.

We will escort the group home after the Stage finish to freshen up for dinner at your leisure in the town of Villars-sur-Ollon.

Day 11

Time Trial

July 21, 2016 / Difficulty
TDF Stage 18: Sallanches – Megève, 17km

Our final day will have two riding options of either one climb or two climbs. Riders will roll out of the hotel early and ride across the Swiss / French border towards the start village of the final ITT in Sallanches.

The group will spend their final day on tour right in the centre of the action where you will get to enjoy the festivities and the start of the Time Trial. We will indulge in town today for our last lunch with time to explore Sallanches.

As the tour sadly comes to an end, it’s time to celebrate the unforgettable memories made and the incredible moments shared with new friends. A farewell dinner will be hosted this evening at the hotel with no doubt a few drinks as well!

Today’s ride: 50km or 90km hilly ride including one or two Category 1 climbs.

Day 12

Au Revoir

TDF Stage 19:  Albertville – Saint-Gervais Mont Blanc, 146km

Today we make our way to breakfast with some incredible memories and new lifelong friends. This will be the end of your tour and services provided by Mummu Cycling unless you are joining us for the final stages in Paris. We hope to see you on tour with us again soon.

If you are joining us with a Paris Package Ad-on, we will be transferring all staff and joining guests this morning.
