Welcome to Lourdes: VIP Stage Finish
TDF Stage 7: L’Isle-Jourdain – Lac de Payolle, 162km
This morning the Mummu Cycling team pick guests up from Pau airport and train station to commence your action packed 9 days ahead. Following a quick introduction, we will head back to our hotel in Lourdes to check in and set up our bikes before jumping right into a nice 50km scenic ride towards the Stage 7 finish in Lac de Payolle. We will spend the afternoon enjoying a catered lunch, special guests and free flowing drinks from our roadside VIP Relais Etape Hospitality area as we watch the peloton speed into the finish.
Staff will host a welcome dinner this evening to talk about the exciting week ahead followed by an early night ready for an early start the next morning.
Today’s ride: Easy 40km ride to warm up the legs
Ride the Course before the Pros
TDF Stage 8: Pau – Bagnères-de-Luchon, 183km
Breakfast will be enjoyed at our hotel followed by a ride to the Stage 8 Depart in Pau. Guests will get the luxury of accessing Pre-Departure VIP in Pau including the exclusive chance to ride the course before the pros! Ensure you bring along your cameras today as this will be a moment you will want to keep forever.
This afternoon we will find a perfect spot to set up and enjoy a picnic on the roadside so we can watch the peloton stream past us. Following lunch we’ll jump back on the saddle for a short ride around the picturesque countryside to top off the afternoon. We will meet back with our van to transfer us back to the hotel.
Dinner is at your leisure this evening as Lourdes has much to offer and much to see.
Today’s ride: 60 – 110km with some difficult hills
TDF Stage 9: Vielha Val d’Aran – Andorre Arcalis, 184km
After watching the pros tackle it the day before, today we will try our legs on the Col du Tourmalet with a 100km loop from our hotel in Lourdes. Only 15km in we will begin our 34.45km ascent at an average grade of 4.5%. Our expert guides will support you the entire way as we take all day to conquer this beast of a climb. We will regroup for lunch after the summit before we enjoy a long descent back to our hotel.
After a long day of riding, we will explore the many dinner options in the town of Lourdes.
Today’s ride: 100km hard hilly Col du Tourmalet loop.
TDF Rest Day: Andorra
Following in the footsteps of the pros we will enjoy a rest day after yesterday’s triumph. After a lazy final breakfast in Lourdes, we will make the journey across the Pyrenees to our new chateau near Beziers. We will stop in a town en route for some lunch and to stretch our legs.
After checking into our new hotel, we will head out for an easy roll around town to stretch our legs and get some fresh air ready for the days ahead. Mummu staff will be hosting your dinner this evening at the hotel.
Today’s ride: Easy 30km roll to stretch the legs
VIP Relais Etape in Revel
TDF Stage 10: Escaldes-Engordany – Revel, 198km
We will enjoy a relaxing morning before loading our bikes and driving towards Carcassonne to ride the final 50km of the stage under closed roads. We will enjoy the afternoon in the VIP Relais Etapes, an exclusive VIP hospitality area located located in prime position on the edge of the road for the viewing of the caravan and the race where we will watch the peloton complete the stage with much more ease than ourselves.
After the stage finish we will head back to our hotel for dinner at your leisure in town.
Today’s ride: 70km of rolling hills on closed roads just before the peloton.
D-Day in Montpellier
TDF Stage 11: Carcassonne – Montpellier, 164km
Enjoy a later start this morning before we saddle up for a 70km ride through the fields towards the finish town of Montpellier where we will lead the peloton, riding the course under closed roads just hours before the race. Hear the roar of the crowds as you ride into the finish line where we will follow the same route as the pros onto the podium for a photo.
After our amazing afternoon we will have the option of riding back to our hotel or transferring back by van. Dinner will be at your leisure tonight to celebrate the incredible day.
Today’s ride: 70 – 140km of flat rolling hills
VIP Departure Village
TDF Stage 12: Montpellier – Mont Ventoux, 185km
The day of the momentous Mont Ventoux has arrived and I hope you’re all ready to tackle the Giant. After packing our bags and part ways with our chateau early to make our journey toward Avignon to catch the next 2 defining stages of the tour. We will ride out of our hotel towards the stage start in Montpellier where we will enjoy exclusive access inside the Village including a breakfast with Tour de France personalities. Visit the team bus area with an opportunity to meet with riders, sport directors and journalists and get close to the departure podium and be part of the pro autograph session.
After cheering on the pros from the departure we will quickly head in our coach to beat the riders into Bedoin where a picnic lunch will be waiting as we watch the riders begin the ascent of Mont Ventoux.
After a long and rewarding day, we will make our way to our new accommodation where you can enjoy dinner at your leisure!
Today’s ride: 60km rolling hills towards Montpellier
TDF Stage 13: Bourg-Saint-Andéol – La Caverne du Pont-d’Arc, 37km
Today is the final day of your tour with Mummu Cycling and what better way to spend it than by trying our luck on the Giant of Provence. Still buzzing with the thrills of yesterday we can follow in the pro’s footsteps on a 90km loop up Ventoux via Bedoin. We will take all morning and most of the afternoon to conquor The Bald Mountain.
After returning to our hotel for a well earned shower, we will come together to cheer on the leading riders as they complete the 37km ITT from Bourg-Saint-Andéol – Vallon-Pont-d’arc.
As your journey with Mummu comes to an end we will celebrate the unforgettable moments and new found lifelong friends over a final group dinner.
Today’s ride: Difficult 90km loop with over 2,500m of climbing
TDF Stage 14: Montélimar – Villars-les-Dombes Parc des Oiseaux, 208km
After breakfast and checkout, the tour will unfortunately come to an end. Is time to say your final farewells unless you are joining Mummu Cycling for next chapter of Le Tour de France 2016. There will be transfers available for those who require.
