Welcome to Roubaix
Your 4 day cycling adventure starts this afternoon. We will greet you in the afternoon at the PArk Hotel in Kortrijk, where we will check you into the hotel and prepare your bikes for a gentle ride to ensure all is in order for tomorrow’s sportive ride.
The Park Hotel is only a short distance from the Roubaix velodrome and is often the chosen location for many of the Pro teams. If we’re lucky we may intersect some of them on their final training ride or perhaps even in the hotel lobby!
The Mummu Cycling team will host a welcome dinner this evening for you to get to know your new-found friends and give you a few hints on how best to survive the cobbles on tomorrows ride!
Roubaix Challenge Ride
Today is one of the highlights of the tour!
It is your opportunity to ride the very course the pros will tackle in only 24 hours’ time. Ride the famous cobbled roads of northern France, including iconic sectors Mons-en-Pevele, Carrefour de l’Aarbe and of course the Arenberg Forest!
Following breakfast, we will transfer you by van to the start of the Paris Roubaix Challenge ride in Roubaix to start your ride. You will finish your ride in the famous Roubaix velodrome. You will have time following the sportive ride to visit the Roubaix museum and to enter the showers where each year’s winner is commemorated with a brass plaque placed on the wall.
We will then return to Kortrijk for dinner at your leisure.
Today’s ride: 70km/140km – Flat, Paris Roubaix Sportive ride. Includes finishing the ride in the famous Roubaix velodrome
The Hell of the North!
The day has arrived. The queen of the classics takes place today! After his breakthrough victory in 2017 Belgium champion Greg Van Avermaet will be looking to make it back to back victories. However, this is the Hell of the North and it is well known for throwing up the odd surprise or two. Just ask our special guest for the day, 2007 Paris Roubaix winner Stuart O’Grady!!
Our Mummu staff will ensure you are right there in the thick of the action as the peloton make their way from Compiegne to the famous Roubaix velodrome. Stuart will also be on hand to give his insights and thoughts on the race.
After seeing the 2018 Paris Roubaix champion crowned we will make our way back to our accommodation for our final night.
Today marks the end of our Roubaix Experience.
Following breakfast, it is time to check out of our hotel. Mummu staff will have a transfer vehicle waiting for you to transport you back to Brussels airport.
We hope you have enjoyed your Mummu Cycling tour and look forward to seeing you again soon
