Day 1

Welcome to the Alps!

Welcome to France and the start of your TDF adventure! The Mummu team will meet you this morning at Geneva airport before transferring to our accommodation at SOWELL Hotels Mont Blanc, nestled right amongst the thick of the mountains in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Upon arrival, enjoy some time to check-in and settle in to your new surrounds before regathering in our allocated bike room. The Mummu staff will then give a short welcome brief before assisting with setting up and fitting bikes.

Once you’re all set to go, take a moment to enjoy a spot of lunch at your leisure and explore the local village.

This afternoon, the Mummu guides will lead the way on a scenic warm-up ride along the beautiful roads that surround us. Today’s ride will be at a nice gentle pace, just enough to spin the legs out after travel and prepare for some big days on the radar.

After the ride, enjoy some time out to relax before meeting up for a group welcome dinner, providing a great chance to get to know one another and cheers to what we expect will be an epic adventure through the Alps this week!

Welcome to the Alps!

July 11, 2022

Welcome to France and the start of your TDF adventure! The Mummu team will meet you this morning at Geneva airport before transferring to our accommodation at SOWELL Hotels Mont Blanc, nestled right amongst the thick of the mountains in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Upon arrival, enjoy some time to check-in and settle in to your new surrounds before regathering for a short welcome brief discussing the week to come.

The afternoon will then be at your leisure to enjoy lunch and explore our stunning mountain surrounds. Or alternatively, kick back and relax at the hotel spa. It is the Tour de France rest day after all!

This evening there will be a group welcome dinner, providing a great chance to get to know one another and cheers to what we expect will be an epic adventure through the Alps this week.

Day 2

Watch the Stage 10 Finish From VIP Izoard Hospitality!

July 12, 2022 / Difficulty
/ Distance 2 hours

Today’s the day that you’ll take your first dive into the Tour de France and what a great day to do it as the peloton take in their first dose of Alps!

Enjoy a gourmet breakfast at the hotel before kitting up for an incredibly scenic ride led out by our guides that will include key parts of the Stage 10 race route and the final run into the finish in Mégève.

Keep in mind that on all rides you will be fully supported and our follow vehicles will never be far out of sight offering ride nutrition, electrolytes, water and mechanic assistance if ever required.

The highlight of today’s ride will be tackling your first big climb of the tour – the Montée de l’altiport de Mégève that travels right up to the finish line, ensuring we’re in for an exciting stage later day! The 19km climb is no easy feat, however with a fairly gentle average gradient of 4.1%, it’s more than doable and the perfect way to ease your legs into the Alps.

After a top effort, there will be opportunity to change at the summit before making your way to VIP Izoard finish line hospitality. Here you will be treated to delicious French canapés and unlimited beverages while watching the action unfold from big screen entertainment. With a healthy glow on, it will then be time to prepare for an exciting finish as the peloton come flying up the climb chasing stage honours. You will be positioned at an incredible viewing location right near the line, so brace yourself for one hell of a show!

Following the stage and celebrations, we will transfer back to the hotel. After a big day out at the race, the evening will be yours free to enjoy dinner in your own time.

Watch the Stage 10 Finish From VIP Izoard Hospitality!

July 12, 2022

Today’s the day that you’ll take your first dive into the Tour de France and what a great day to do it as the peloton take in their first dose of Alps!

Enjoy a gourmet breakfast at the hotel before preparing for our transfer to the Stage 10 finish in Mégève.

On route, we will make a pitstop at a local village to take in the stunning scenery while enjoying a coffee and a croissant (when in France…) to gear up for a big afternoon at the Tour!

On arrival to the summit at the top of the 19km Montée de l’altiport de Mégève climb, you will make your way to VIP Izoard finish line hospitality. Here you will be treated to delicious French canapés and unlimited beverages while watching the action unfold from big screen entertainment. With a healthy glow on, it will then be time to prepare for an exciting finish as the peloton come flying up the climb chasing stage honours. You will be positioned at an incredible viewing location right near the line, so brace yourself for one hell of a show!

Following the stage and celebrations, we will transfer back to the hotel. After a big day out at the race, the evening will be yours free to enjoy dinner in your own time.

Experience the Stage 11 Mountain Madness Roadside up the Col du Télegraphe

July 13, 2022 / Difficulty
/ Distance 2.5 hours

This morning will be an earlier start as we venture on to our next destination. Enjoy a good breakfast before checking out and preparing for our transfer to today’s ride start point along the mountainous Stage 11 race route.

Soon after arrival, the Mummu guides will lead the way on a rolling ride on course, leading into your challenge of the day – the Col du Télegraphe. The famous Alps climb is well known for its endless hairpin turns and picturesque scenery that just keeps getting better the higher you climb. The 11.9km climb averages a challenging 7.1%, so prepare to endure a little suffering. All might be forgotten as you’re completely absorbed in the Tour de France mountain atmosphere that surrounds you as excited fans line the climb cheering you on as they await the race to come this afternoon. Motivation will no doubt be at its greatest and you’ll be grinning away snapping pics at the summit before you know it!

Once you’ve appreciated your efforts and the glorious views up top, it will be time to cruise part of the way back down the mountain to our roadside viewing spot for the day. The Mummu marquee will be awaiting your arrival with cool beverages and a delicious picnic lunch to replenish those efforts and kill a little time before the peloton arrive.

Soon enough, the head of the race will come flying up the Télegraphe’s slopes at furious unfathomable speeds! Be prepared to be mind blown and remember to cheer on your favourite riders as they blitz by.

After an exciting afternoon out watching the race, we will transfer on to our next hotel in the heart of the beautiful Grenoble. Once checked in, the evening will be at your leisure to enjoy our humming city surrounds and take your pick from its fantastic selection of bars and restaurants.

Experience the Stage 11 Mountain Madness Roadside up the Col du Télegraphe

The famous Alps climb is well known for its endless hairpin turns and picturesque scenery that just keeps getting better the higher you climb. At 11.9km with a challenging average gradient of 7.1% it will be no easy feat for the pros later day and they will still have two huge climbs to tackle afterwards!

Take in the incredible Tour de France mountain atmosphere as we make our way up the climb to the Mummu marquee that will be awaiting your arrival with cool beverages and a delicious picnic lunch to prepare for an exciting afternoon of mountain roadside viewing.

Soon enough, the head of the race will come flying up the Télegraphe’s slopes at furious unfathomable speeds! Be prepared to be mind blown and remember to cheer on your favourite riders as they blitz by.

After an exciting dose of race action, we will transfer on to our next hotel in the heart of the beautiful Grenoble. Once checked in, the evening will be at your leisure to enjoy our humming city surrounds and take your pick from its fantastic selection of bars and restaurants.

Watch Stage 12 up the Legendary Alpe d'Huez!

July 14, 2022 / Difficulty
/ Distance 3 hours

Today is going to be one for the memory books as the legendary Alpe d’Huez returns to the Tour de France for the first time since 2018!

Following a nutritious breakfast at the hotel this morning, we will transfer to today’s ride start point along the race route that will run right into the final climb of the day, giving you the chance to tackle a true Alps icon on RACE DAY. When it comes to atmosphere on a climb, Alpe d’Huez takes things to a whole new level. Embrace it as you pedal your way up, from bend 1 to 21!

After a valiant effort to the summit, the Mummu guides will lead you back down part of the climb to our roadside viewing spot right in the thick of the mountain magic. This is as great as Tour de France atmosphere gets and you will be right amidst the best of it.

While waiting for the race to approach the climb, relax over a picnic lunch and cool drinks at the Mummu marquee before settling in for some very entertaining roadside action. Get set to cheer the pros on as they blast by us on a mission to claim Alpe d’Huez honours!

Following a big day out at the Tour, we will transfer back to the hotel. This evening will be yours free to explore Grenoble and its top bars and restaurants, or alternatively – kick back and relax.

Watch Stage 12 up the Legendary Alpe d'Huez!

July 14, 2022

Today is going to be one for the memory books as the legendary Alpe d’Huez returns to the Tour de France for the first time since 2018!

When it comes to atmosphere on a climb, Alpe d’Huez takes things to a whole new level. Embrace it as you transfer up and over every hair pin!

On arrival, relax over a picnic lunch and cool beverages before settling in for some thrilling roadside action. Then prepare to cheer on the pros as they blast by us on a mission to claim Alpe d’Huez honours.

Following a big day out at the Tour, we will transfer back to the hotel. This evening will be yours free to explore Grenoble and its top bars and restaurants, or alternatively – kick back and relax.

Watch the Stage 13 Start from the Official Departure Village

July 15, 2022 / Difficulty
/ Distance 2.5 hours

After breakfast this morning we will transfer to today’s Stage 13 Start in Bourg d’Oisans, where you will experience ‘Departure Village’ Tour de France hospitality, an asset we have privileged access to as an Official Tour Operator.

Here, you’ll be able to kick back over local delicacies and enjoy the humming, excited pre-start atmosphere, while watching the riders step onto the stage for official sign-on, all surrounded by star studded company amidst former pros and big Le Tour names.

*Depending on COVID restrictions this July, we ‘may’ also have access to the Paddock that allows you to walk around the team bus area where riders are busily preparing and warming up for the Stage ahead!

Following the Stage start, there will be opportunity to grab a spot of lunch before preparing for today’s scenic ride back to the hotel over mostly flat terrain.

Post ride, take some time out to unwind or chill out at the bar to watch the stage finish together over a deserved cold one!

The Mummu team will then assist with packing down bikes and assembling for tomorrow’s departure.

This evening we will enjoy a final group dinner to share highlights of the week and raise our glasses to what we hope has been a fantastic week amongst the Alps!

Watch the Stage 13 Start from the Official Departure Village

July 15, 2022

After breakfast this morning we will transfer to today’s Stage 13 Start in Bourg d’Oisans, where you will experience ‘Departure Village’ Tour de France hospitality, another asset we have privileged access to as an Official Tour Operator.
