Day 1

The Tour de France is here!

Welcome to Brest and the start of what will be a special 6 days embracing the Tour de France Grand Départ through Brittany!

This morning, the Mummu Cycling team will meet you at Brest airport or train station at 10am to collect and transfer you to our premium accommodation, ideally located in the heart of Brest and within reach of the opening Stage Start/Finish.

On arrival, take some time to check-in and freshen up before meeting our team, who will assist in setting up and fitting bikes ahead of our afternoon warm-up ride along the beautiful country roads of Brest.

First, take the opportunity to explore the port city centre, and grab a bite to eat ahead of ride time at approximately 2pm.

Your tour host – pro cycling legend and 17 x Tour de France rider, Stuart O’Grady will then lead you out on a relaxed 1.5 hour ride through Brest’s lush rolling surrounds, providing a great chance to spin the legs out post travel, check bikes are in tune and to gear up for some big days lapping it up at the Tour de France!

On arrival back to the hotel, you’ll have time to refresh and relax before we transfer to the official opening team’s presentation! Expect lively atmosphere and sheer excitement as the world’s best riders take to the stage to begin their 2021 Tour de France journey.

Get your cameras ready to snap away as your sporting idols step onto the stage, a mixture of enthusiasm and nerves!

The Tour de France is here!

June 24, 2021

Welcome to Brest and the start of what will be a special 6 days embracing the Tour de France Grand Départ through Brittany!

This morning, the Mummu Cycling team will meet you at Brest airport or train station at 10am to collect and transfer you to our premium accommodation, ideally located in the heart of Brest and within reach of the opening Stage Start/Finish.

On arrival, take some time to check-in and freshen up before meeting our team for a welcome brief.

The afternoon will then be yours free to relax post travel, or explore the beautiful Brest. The charming port city is rich in history, guarded by a medieval tower and castle. Its natural harbour is dotted with yachts and fishing boats, surrounded by seafront cafés, providing plenty to see and do!

Late afternoon, we will transfer to the official opening team’s presentation! Expect lively atmosphere and sheer excitement as the world’s best riders take to the stage to begin their 2021 Tour de France journey.

Get your cameras ready to snap away as your sporting idols step out on stage, a mixture of enthusiasm and nerves!

Day 2

Meet a pro team as they prepare for the Tour de France + Explore the best of Brest

June 25, 2021 / Difficulty
/ Distance 2.5 hours

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel, before preparing for this morning’s scenic 2.5 hour ride adventure, on rolling roads, lead out by Stuey, closely followed by the Mummu support van where mechanical assistance, nutrition, water and electrolytes will be on hand throughout.

Following a glorious tap through stunning French countryside, it will be time to freshen up for lunch where you’ll enjoy a taste of Brittany’s famous crêpes and cider. Salut to that!

Post lunch, we will transfer to this afternoon’s pro team meet and greet (under Covid-19 guidelines). This will be an incredible chance to see how a World Tour team operates and prepares ahead of the most important race on the calendar. You’ll gather some fantastic insight from the ‘team behind the team’ of mechanics, to sporting directors. Get your questions and cameras ready…

This evening will be at your leisure to explore Brest and perhaps dabble in a bit of the port city’s seafood to cap off a top day out and discuss tomorrow’s Stage 1 predictions!

Meet a pro team as they prepare for the Tour de France + Explore the best of Brest

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel,  before preparing for a tour of Brest that will include a visit to the impressive Océanopolis aquarium so famous to the port city.

Following a lovely morning out exploring Brest’s sights, we will meet the riding contingent of the group at today’s lunch spot where you’ll enjoy a taste of Brittany’s famous crêpes and cider. Salut to that!

Post lunch, we will transfer to this afternoon’s pro team meet and greet (under Covid-19 guidelines). This will be an incredible chance to see how a World Tour team operates and prepares ahead of the most important race on the calendar. You’ll gather some fantastic insight from the ‘team behind the team’ of mechanics, to sporting directors. Get your questions and cameras ready…

This evening will be at your leisure to explore Brest and perhaps dabble in a bit of its raved about seafood to cap off a top day out and discuss tomorrow’s Stage 1 predictions!

Let the Games Begin...Ride off the Stage 1 Start Line!

Today the Tour de France officially commences – Bring on the action!

Following breakfast, it’ll be time to kit up for short ride to the Stage 1 start where you will have the surreal opportunity to ride off the opening Stage’s start line and along the race route, on closed roads, within the official race caravan. This is an experience exclusive to Official Tour Operator’s and one we thrive off delivering every time!

Prepare to be absolutely wowed as you set off the start line in Brest, the side lines lined with avid fans cheering you on as they await the pro start in excited anticipation.

We will ride for approximately 1.5 hours along the course on closed roads, before arriving at our roadside viewing spot for the day along the route, where we will enjoy a picnic lunch together and await the Stage 1 action to come!

Brace yourself to see the race fly by and get set to cheer on your favourite riders and absorb the incredible race atmosphere as the first wearer of the Maillot Jaune will soon be crowned on what will be a challenging, undulating course suited to the punchers.

Once the race has passed, we will ride or transfer back to the hotel to watch the Stage finish together over a cool beverage at the hotel.

This evening will then be at your leisure to take your pick from Brest’s great line-up of restaurants and bars, or kick back and relax following a big day out at the Tour de France.

Let the Games Begin...Ride off the Stage 1 Start Line!

June 26, 2021

Today the Tour de France officially commences – Bring on the action!

Following breakfast, it’ll be time to head over to the Stage 1 start where you will have the surreal opportunity to drive off the opening Stage’s start line and along the race route, on closed roads, within the official race caravan. This is an experience exclusive to Official Tour Operator’s and one we thrive off delivering every time!

Prepare to be absolutely wowed as our group set’s off the start line in Brest, the side lines lined with avid fans cheering us on as they await the pro start in excited anticipation.

We will travel for approximately 30km along the course on closed roads, before arriving at our roadside viewing spot for the day along the route, where we will enjoy a picnic lunch together and await the Stage 1 action to come!

Master the Mûr-de-Bretagne

June 27, 2021 / Difficulty
/ Distance 3.5 hours

Enjoy a later start today before checkout. Be sure to take in a hearty breakfast ahead of a 3.5 hour endurance ride that will include the mighty Mûr-de-Bretagne, where today’s Stage 2 finish will take place, following the opening women’s La Course by Le Tour de France!

Although short at 2km, it’s steep and will no doubt be a nice wake-up to the legs…The climb was last featured at the Tour de France in 2018, mastered to perfection by Irishman Dan Martin.

Following a solid morning on the pedals, it will be time to unwind at our VIP hospitality location primly located on course.

On arrival, take some time to refresh before settling in for an afternoon of indulging in fine wine, unlimited beverages and French cuisine, while talking tactics with Stuey and watching the action unfold from big screen entertainment, before seeing the race ferociously pass LIVE – the men and women on a hunt for Mûr-de-Bretagne honours!

After a thrilling dose of bike racing, we will transfer on to our new accommodation in Lorient. Conveniently located within walking distance of a selection of reputable bars and restaurants – the evening will be yours to explore, toast and enjoy.

Enjoy a later start today, before checkout and a good breakfast. We will then transfer to our hospitality location for the day, located primly along the Stage 2 route that includes the mighty Mûr-de-Bretagne, where the stage finish will take place, following the opening women’s La Course by Le Tour de France!

Stage 3 VIP Departure Village!

This morning, following breakfast at the hotel, we will transfer to the Stage 3 Start where you will enjoy exclusive access to the Departure Village.

This access presents a unique occasion to see the riders within close proximity signing-on for the stage ahead, while enjoying the official Tour de France Departure Village festivities – Always full of atmosphere, entertainment and treats; ranging from local delicacies, to coffee and beverages…

Pending Covid-19 guidelines at the time, we may also have access to the team bus area where you’ll see riders undergo their pre-race rituals, warm-ups and routines ahead of the stage.

Once you’ve experienced the excitement of a Stage Start, grab a spot of lunch at your leisure before kitting up for a scenic 2.5 hour ride back to Lorient.

On arrival, we will settle in to watch the Stage 3 finish together on TV and cheers to another day in amongst the TDF’s inner sanctum.

It will then be time to pack and freshen up before regathering for this evening’s final farewell group dinner, where we will close out what we are sure has been an epic opening to the Tour de France in great company!
