Welcome to Copenhagen and the start of your Grand Départ experience!

The Mummu team will greet you by 10am this morning at Copenhagen airport or train station before transferring you to our premium accommodation right in the heart of the humming Danish capital.

On arrival take some time to check-in and settle before meeting the Mummu staff in our allocated bike room for a welcome brief. They will then assist with bike assembly and fits ahead of this afternoon’s warm-up ride.

After, there be opportune to explore our surrounds and grab a spot of lunch at your leisure before meeting ready to ride at 2pm.

17 x Tour de France rider and 4 x Stage winner, Stuart O’Grady will then lead the way on a group ride exploring Copenhagen’s well regarded city bike paths and surrounds. Copenhagen is famous for its great cycling reputation and we look forward to exploring the best if it with you.

Post ride, freshen up and relax before regathering for the Official team’s presentation where you will see the world’s best cyclists take the stage to celebrate the opening of the 2022 Tour de France. Bring your cameras and enjoy the incredible pre-race atmosphere!

After the presentation, there will be a group welcome dinner to raise our glasses to what we are confident will be a fantastic trip watching the best of the Tour de France’s opening three stages.

While we await the 2022 Tour de France to get underway tomorrow, today will be all about exploring the best of Copenhagen.

Enjoy a good breakfast at the hotel this morning before gearing up for a tour of Copenhagen by bike. As one of the best places in the world for inner-city cycling, today will be a fantastic opportunity to be guided via its best sights and must-visit hot spots. Along the way, we will be making a special stop at the Conditori La Glace bakery – famous for its incredible selection of divine cakes and World Champion status a phenomenal 10 times! Be sure to devour every bit of your world class cake…

Following the ride, there will be time to take lunch at your leisure downtown.

Later afternoon, there will then be the option to visit the iconic Rosenborg castle, one of the most famous sights in Copenhagen. The 400 year old 17th century castle was built by Scandinavian King, Christian IV. When visiting the castle you will be guided on a trip back in time as you explore the Knight’s Hall where coronation thrones and large silver lions await before making your way to the king’s headquarters where Denmark’s Crown Jewels are spectacularly displayed. The castle is also home to an incredible collection of the world’s finest Venetian glass by Flora Danica.

Following your journey back in time, the rest of the day and evening will be yours free to enjoy the buzzing city atmosphere and amazing gastronomy.

Today the Tour de France begins with a fast and furious opening 13km race against the clock! It’s going to be quick and an absolute thrill to watch as the world’s best give it their all to claim the first Maillot Jaune of 2022.

This morning following breakfast, Stuey will be leading the way on a scenic 2 hour ride around the famous lakes of Amager and Heron, ensuring you take in the best of Copenhagen’s picturesque landscape.

After the ride, there will be time to freshen up before making our way into Izoard finish line hospitality where you will indulge in unlimited beverages and canapés while watching the Stage action over big screen entertainment. Soon enough, the riders will start flying through to the finish one by one at shockingly quick speeds, all on cutting edge aerodynamic equipment. By then, you’ll be glowing with excitement, chanting support at each rider as they storm past within arm’s reach!

Once you’ve seen the Stage winner crowned, we will head back to the hotel. This evening will be at your leisure to explore the vibrant capital, where the atmosphere will no doubt be at its best celebrating Day 1 of the Tour de France.

After a good breakfast and checkout, we will transfer to our ride start point of the day along the Stage 2 route that travels from Roskilde to Nyborg.

Today, you will have the opportunity to ride for several hours along the race route. Expect some wind as the route travels across exposed terrain…perhaps a nice chance to jump on the Stuart O’Grady train as he tucks into time trial mode!

We will end the day’s ride at Relais Etape hospitality, located at a pinnacle point along the race route. The Relais Etape is the Tour de France’s most talked about hospitality, offering a real day of ‘VIP treatment’ that will have you sitting down to a divine three course long-lunch, paired with unlimited local French wine. All while watching the opening Stage action from big screen entertainment, amidst some star-studded company, in the form of past Tour de France contenders.

You will then get to watch the caravan and the peloton zip right by us all focus on claiming Stage 2 honours. Prepare to get your cheer on for your favourite riders!

After breakfast this morning we will transfer to the Stage 3 start in Vejle where you will experience ‘Departure Village’ Tour de France hospitality – Another asset we have privileged access to as an Official Tour Operator.

Here, you’ll be able to kick back over local delicacies and enjoy the humming, excited pre-start atmosphere, while watching the riders step onto the stage for official sign-on, all surrounded by star studded company amidst former pros and big Le Tour names. Stick with your tour host, Stuey and you never know who you might bump into!

*Depending on COVID restrictions next July, we ‘may’ also have access to the Paddock that allows you to walk around the team bus area where riders are busily preparing and warming up for the Stage ahead!

Following the excitement of watching the Stage start, we will transfer back to the hotel. There will be opportunity to grab a bite to eat at your leisure before kitting up for this afternoons ride.

Today Stuey will be guiding you on a scenic 2.5 hour loop along the coast and through stunning countryside inland.

After the ride, we will watch the Stage finish together over a celebratory beer or beverage before meeting the Mummu staff in our bike room who will assist with packing up bikes ahead of tomorrow’s departure.

This evening, there will be a final group dinner to round out what we hope has been a memorable opening week at the Tour de France in Denmark!
