Our Loire to Alps experience will have you chasing the Tour de France and all its glory as it weaves through central France on route to the almighty Alps! You’ll travel from the enchanting medieval city of Bourges and dabble in its exquisite wine country, dotted with stunning châteaus through the Loire Valley, before venturing Southeast to the pearl of the French Alps, Annecy.

Along the way, you’ll take a serious dive into the Tour de France’s inner sanctum, enjoying exclusive VIP experiences almost everyday on tour! We will have you lapping it up in the Official Stage Start Departure Village, to riding on the racecourse and across the finish line, before stepping onto the winner’s podium. You’ll then wine and dine to your heart’s content at an incredible hospitality location on course, topped with kicking back at the thrilling Stage 8 finish in Le Grand-Bornand, where we’ll have you superbly positioned to witness those euphoric celebratory moments – champagne ready to toast to the day’s champion!

When not absorbing every inkling of the race, you’ll be experiencing the best of the Loire’s wine and cuisine, before pedalling your way into the iconic Alps and a taste of France’s mythical mountains.

Day 1

Welcome to the Loire!

June 30, 2021 / Difficulty

Welcome to the Loire and the start of your Tour de France experience that will journey towards the iconic Alps!

The Mummu Cycling team will collect you in Tours mid-morning before transferring to our premium accommodation in the historic city of Bourges.

On arrival, take some time to check-in and settle, before regathering for a welcome brief and joining the Mummu team in our allocated bike room who will assist with bike builds and fittings.

Shortly after, we will depart on today’s warm-up ride on route to the stunning vineyard-dotted Loire river, famous for producing some world-renowned, divine French wines.

The ride will be nice and relaxed, providing a great opportunity to spin the legs post travel and to warm into what will be some big days on the radar. All rides will be led by our experienced ride guides and followed by Mummu support vehicles, who will assist with mechanicals, and carry ride nutrition, water, electrolytes and throw in a few cheers here and there!

Along the Loire, we will make a pitstop for an exclusive winery tour and lunch, setting the scene for what’s to come to perfection. Santé to that!

Post tour, we will cruise back to the hotel where you can put your feet up and unwind, before regrouping for this evening’s welcome dinner, raising our glasses once more to what we are confident will be a memorable tour following the Tour de France.

Welcome to the Loire!

Day 2

Ride on course to the Stage 6 Finish + Strike a pose on the Stage winner's podium!

July 1, 2021 / Difficulty
/ Distance 3 hours

Today, you’ll take your first step into the Tour de France’s inner sanctum. Get excited!

Following a gourmet breakfast at the hotel, kit up for a 3 hour ride adventure that will include riding along the course and onto the finish in Châteauroux. Here, you will have an exclusive opportunity to pass the barriers at the Flamme Rouge and ride the final km on closed roads to cross the stage finish line – fist pumping the air, if you please!

You will then take top step on the official stage podium. Now’s your chance to lap up your winning moment and strike a pose for the cameras, before retreating to the stage winner’s interview area.

Once you’ve had your moment of glory, we will kick back to watch the finish together roadside. The predicted windy stage could provide some potential echelon action, leaving only the strongest men left in contention to battle for honours. Either way – prepare to be blown away!

After the stage, we will transfer back to Bourges where the evening will be yours free to explore the beautiful city centre, packed with a great selection of bars and restaurants. Alternatively, call it a day and relax at the hotel following a festive afternoon out.

Day 2

Ride on course to the Stage 6 Finish + Strike a pose on the Stage winner's podium!

Experience Stage 7 hospitality at its very best...

This morning, enjoy a relaxed start to the day, followed by breakfast and checkout by 10am. Pack a day bag with ride gear, your camera and a change of clothes as we’ll first be transferring to our ride start point along today’s Stage 7 route that travels from Vierzon to Le Creusot.

On arrival, we will ride for approximately 2 hours along the Stage race route, before calling it a day at our incredible hospitality zone – the Relais Etape, located at a pinnacle point along the course.

The Relais Etape is an exclusive hospitality experience, offering a real day of ‘special treatment’ that will have you sitting down to a divine three course long-lunch, paired with unlimited delicious local French wine, while watching the Stage 7 action from big screen entertainment, amidst some star-studded company, in the form of past Tour de France contenders.

Day 4

Ride the Col de la Colombière + Watch a dramatic Stage 8 finish!

July 3, 2021 / Difficulty
/ Distance 3.5 hours

Today is the day you can officially unpack your climbing legs as we make a run for the ‘real’ hills!

Following a substantial breakfast, prepare yourself for today’s mountainous ride on route to the stage 8 finish in Le Grand-Bornand, where Julian Alaphilippe famously won his first Tour de France stage in 2018.

Along the way, you’ll conquer the iconic Col de la Colombière, featured along today’s mountainous stage route. It won’t be an easy feat, however the feeling of elation and immense satisfaction atop will make any suffering endured well worth it. On all climbs, we will always regroup at the top, allowing you to take the climb as gently or as quickly as your legs so desire!

You will then descend down the finish in Le Grand-Bornand, where there will be opportunity to change and freshen up before settling in for an afternoon well spent at the Mummu marquee where you’ll be joined by 17 x TDF rider Stuart O’Grady to chat all things TDF and await the excitement of the stage finish over a picnic lunch.

Soon enough, the pros will come storming home in a ferocious bid for stage honours and what we expect will be a truly epic finale, following a mountainous route and a tense descent to the line.

Once the stage has commenced, we will transfer back to Annecy. The Mummu team will then get to work with bike dismantle for tomorrow afternoon’s travel.

This evening, we will enjoy one final group dinner to round out what we are confident has been one thrilling ride from the Loire to the Alps!

This morning, following breakfast and check-out we will transfer to the Stage 9 Start in Cluses, where you’ll enjoy exclusive access to the Departure Village.
