The final week of the Tour de France is always special. The race enters the Alps, the 5th mountain range visited on this year’s Tour. With the prestigious Maillot Jaune up for grabs, there is no better place to be than roadside to see all the action!!

Beinvenue

July 16, 2017

Welcome to the final exciting week of the Tour de France in the Alps! Mummu staff will be on ground to meet you in Grenoble and transfer you to our nearby hotel.

If there is time we will watch the final kilometres of today’s Tour stage together before heading to dinner as a group where we will discuss your week ahead in more detail and brief you on your ride in the morning.

Alpe d'Huez

July 17, 2017

A Cycling pilgramage! cyclists from all across the world travel to climb this mythical mountain! This morning is you turn!

After breakfast we will have a short transfer to the start of our ride. We will ride along the valley floor until the town of Bourg d’Oisans where we will turn left and begin the 14km climb and 21 hairpin turns of Alpe d’Huez. We will climb all the way to the top, passing the Fausto Coppi monument just before the finish of the climb.

Once at the top we will enjoy some lunch, following this you will have the option for some more riding, or if your legs are done after the climb this morning, we will transfer you back to the hotel.

VIP Finish

July 18, 2017

Today the Tour riders a fresh from their rest day and will make their way towards the Alps. We will make our way west from our hotel towards the finish town of today’s stage.
We will stop for a coffee and a croissant on the way. A real feature of the region of France is the landscape, our transfer to the finish town of Romans-sur-Isere is an experience in itself!

On arrival we will make our way to our finish line hospitality, before we do we will get behind the scenes of the Tour de France as we see the technical zone on the finish line where hundreds of countries are broadcasting today’s action. Your location for the finish of the stage is only hundreds of metres from the finish line and includes nibbles and drinks, as well as live broadcast of the stage so you can see all the action before it comes right past your very eyes for an exciting finish where we expect the sprinters to play a big role in the outcome of the stage.

Following the conclusion of today’s stage we will make our way back to the van where we will transfer you back to our hotel.

Roadside viewing

July 19, 2017

Today is the first of the two big stages in the Alps region. As the race winds its way across 3 mountain passes today, we will bring you road side to see the action.

After breakfast we will make our way to the Col d’Onan, the first climb of today’s stage, where we will enjoy a picnic before watching the caravan and peloton pass. We will then make our way towards the base of Col du Galibier to see the riders descend into the finish line in Serre-Chevalier.

It is then a short drive south to our new chateau for the next few nights, where we will check in and enjoy dinner as a group. Tomorrow is an exciting stage, touted as the queen stage of this year’s Tour!

Queen Stage

July 20, 2017

Today marks the queen stage of this year’s tour, a summit finish atop the Col d’Izoard. We have ensured you won’t miss any of the action of this stage as we take you to the Relais Etape hospitality, le Tours premium hospitality location along side the course.

Our route towards our hospitality destination takes us on the official course for today’s stage, where we will see the crowds already waiting, creating a unique atmosphere. You will be greeted with champagne and a delicious three course lunch. Enjoy all the live action of the stage on big screen through the live broadcast, be entertained by former Tour de France personalities before heading roadside to see the race pass!

Our vans will transfer you back to our chateau, where you will have the evening to relax after a long and exciting day!

Departure Village

July 21, 2017

Today’s stage starts in the nearby town of Embrun. We will transfer you by van, allowing you to get up close and personal with the teams and riders at the stage depart. Enjoy all the atmosphere pre stage as the riders get ready to begin another tough day in the saddle.

Once we see the race begin we will transfer back to our hotel where you have the option for a relaxing afternoon in Barcolonette. There will also be an option for a scenic drive to the top of the highest paved road in France, the Col de la Bonette.

We will come together in the evening for our final dinner as a group to reflect on an amazing week before the tour comes to a close in the morning.

Bon Voyage

July 22, 2017

Unfortunately our tour comes to a close this morning. After breakfast as a group we will check out of our hotel and transfer you to Grenoble.

If you have chosen the Paris add on, we will transfer you by train to France’s capital for the final stage the following day.
