This morning we will welcome you on your ‘Weekend on Cobbles’ tour at Lille train station where our Mummu staff will be waiting to greet you and transfer in our luxury vans to our hotel for then next three nights.
This evening we will head out for dinner as a group where we will all get to know one another before our weekend begins tomorrow.
A day in Roubaix
This morning we welcome our tour host, 2007 Paris-Roubaix winner and 17 time Tour de France finisher, Stuart O’Grady.
Stuart expertly navigated the roads we will ride today in 2007 to be the first Australian in history to hold aloft the famous Roubaix cobblestone trophy. The day was not without drama however with Stuey puncturing in the d’Arenberg Forest and even snapping his crank in the beginning of the race. But his solo effort in the final sectors and into the velodrome was one for the ages and you can revisit this history by his side today.
Stuey will take us into the Roubaix showers and we may even bump into some his old mates around the region along the way.
After an incredible day on the bike we will head back to our hotel and enjoy dinner in town at your leisure, there are also plenty of bars.
After breakfast this morning we will head out in our luxury vans along the Tour de France route to the stage finish alongside the Velodrome in Roubaix. Once at the finish we will enjoy Le Tour’s official Izoard VIP hospitality on the finish line where we will be treated to champagne and canapes as we watch the broadcast on French TV before the riders arrive for the dramatic stage 9 finish. Will one of the GC favourites crash out today?
After what is expected to be a dramatic finish we will head back to our hotel with Stuey for a farewell dinner as a group.
This morning we invite our guests to enjoy breakfast at the hotel before checking out. Our staff will then assist you with your transfer before saying Bon Voyage! We trust you’ve had a wonderful experience with Mummu Cycling and hope to tour with you again.
