Meet the Mummu Cycling and Factor Bikes teams at the Factor Bikes headquarters in Gardenvale, Melbourne at 6.30am. Free parking will be available.
We will then depart at 7am via spacious van transfer 280km to our tour destination at the Riversleigh, Bairnsdale.
*Please note that the necessary extra hygiene and spacing protocols will be applied during travel and at all times on tour.
On arrival, take some time to check-in and settle, before regathering for a group lunch, followed by bike set up with Factor Bikes Australia Technical Director, Andy Naylor.
Once all bikes are dialled and ready to hit the road, we’ll prepare for this afternoon’s warm-up ride offering the perfect opportunity to spin the legs post travel and acclimatise. You’ll then be led out by your tour host, Stuart O’Grady on a beautiful 70km ride on the surrounding local roads.
Here we’ll travel through many of the affected areas and catch a glimpse of their road to recovery and progress since the devastation of the past summer’s bushfires.
On arrival back to the Riversleigh, take some time out to freshen-up and relax before regrouping for a welcome group dinner hosted by Stuey.
Now will mark a fantastic occasion to get to know Stuey and your fellow guests, chat all things cycling and toast to a big weekend on the pedals to come.
Time to hit the hills...
This morning, enjoy a substantial early breakfast before kitting up and getting set for today’s adventure through the challenging surrounding hills that Gippsland has to offer!
Stuey will lead the way on a testing 132km ride with a succession of 1680m of ascent..let’s just say – you’ll need your climbing legs!
Ride support will be on hand all day, offering refreshments, electrolytes, gels, bars, as well as cool cokes and snacks for when that much needed sugar boost comes…
We will complete a cracking day in the saddle by relaxing over a gourmet lunch, paired with a much deserved drop of vino or two at Lightfoot & Sons wines, an amazing local winery.
Refreshed and refuelled, Andy from Factor Bikes will then be running a 1 hour seminar/discussion talking you through the world class range of Factor Bikes. Any questions you have regarding their bikes, now will be a fantastic time to ask and learn everything you need to know from an expert.
Post chat, we will take a short transfer to continue our bike-mad day with a visit to Warren Meade’s to check out his incredibly historic bike collection. Meade is known as one of the best bike collectors in Australia and has everything from the most retro of rides, to sentimental race bikes and beyond.
Following an eventful day out, we will return to enjoy a delicious group dinner to discuss the day’s antics, refuel and sit back while Stuey shares a tale or two from his extensive career as a pro.

Put yourself to the test...
This morning following breakfast, Stuey will be holding a ‘bike handling and training’ seminar.
Here, you’ll be able to learn in detail from one of the best in the biz. Stuey raced professionally for just shy of 20 years and has won some of the biggest races in the sport, including arguably the most technically challenging race there is, Paris-Roubaix.
So, we can confidently say, he knows a tip or two about bike handling! He’ll be offering advice and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have throughout. Descending technique, sprinting, cornering…the works.
He’ll then go on to discuss training methods, what worked for him, what’s the go in pro cycling today and what may work for you.
We’ll then put your learnings to the test by heading out for our final 90km ride late morning where we’ll throw in some structured intervals along the way to really get the legs burning…if you so desire!
Along the way, we will make a pitstop to enjoy the scenery and replenish those efforts well over a picnic lunch.
On arrival back to the Riversleigh there’ll be time to shower and get set for your transfer back to Melbourne.
Pre-transfer, we’ll enjoy afternoon tea and a celebratory beer together to toast to a fantastic weekend in Bairnsdale. Thank you for your support!
We will have you back in Melbourne post journey by 8pm, before saying our goodbyes.
We trust you’ve had a great weekend on tour and hope to have you back on future domestic or international tours with us soon!
