    It’s the opening Grand Tour of the season – nerves are sky high, riders are fresh and form is exceptional. The battle for pink is real and 2018 proved just that, when Chris Froome stormed into the lead as late as Stage 19, stealing the overall victory from a pain-faced, depleted Tom Dumoulin. It was certainly down to the wire and made for some phenomenal race-viewing.

    In general, competition is absolutely at its very best at the Giro and not only due to rider form, but also the highly renowned challenging and unforgiving terrain the race covers year after year – the organisers never showing the slightest bit of empathy when creating the route each edition!
