Our Giro d’Italia 2020 experience will have you ideally placed in the thick of the action as you step onto the scene 10 days out from the final showdown in Milan. This will undoubtedly be where the decisive, race-shaping moves take place as the vertical metres continue to rapidly rise, the finish draws closer and the sweet smell of Maglia Rosa victory teasingly lies on the horizon.

We’ll have you at an incredible 5 LIVE stages to absorb the sheer thrill of it all firsthand and to truly immerse yourself within the passionate atmosphere. Welcome to bella Italia!

This morning, the Mummu Cycling team will collect you from Venice airport and/or train station at 9am.

(*We can arrange pre-night accommodation and pick-up the day prior, on request. This option is encouraged due to our busy day 1 schedule and early meeting time).

We will then transfer to our hotel in Treviso. Take some time to check-in before meeting our team in the bike room who will assist you with assembling and fitting bikes.

Get ready to then step right into the Giro d’Italia action, as this afternoon we will be transferring 75km directly to today’s Stage 15 finish up the challenging slopes of the Piancavello.

Here, you will get to witness the sensational summit finish atmosphere as the pros face a testing 14km slog up to the line. Be prepared to roar words of support at your favourite riders as they heroically battle it out for honours…What a way to dive straight into your Giro d’Italia experience, right?!

Following your first taste of Giro mountain madness, we will transfer back to the hotel. This evening, we’ll enjoy a group welcome dinner to cheers to the many adventures ahead!

Welcome to bella Italia!

This morning, the Mummu Cycling team will collect you from Venice airport at 9am.

(*We can arrange pre-night accommodation and pick-up the day prior, on request. This option is encouraged due to our busy day 1 schedule and early meeting time).

We will then transfer to our hotel in Treviso, where you can take some time to check-in and settle.

It’ll then be time to step right into the Giro d’Italia action, as this afternoon we will be transferring 75km directly to today’s Stage 15 finish up the challenging slopes of the Piancavello.

Here, you will get to witness the sensational summit finish atmosphere as the pros face a testing 14km slog up to the line. Ride time + Exclusive Pro team Meet & Greet

This morning, following a good breakfast, get set for a ride adventure around the stunning outskirts of Treviso.

Today’s rolling ride will present the perfect opportunity to test the legs, as well as appreciate the spectacular scenery and our vineyard-prominent surrounds.

Throughout the ride, we will make a pitstop to enjoy a group lunch with a gorgeous river setting.

On arrival back to the hotel, take some time to shower and relax, before we regather to transfer to a pro team’s hotel to enjoy an exclusive Meet & Greet.

Here will mark an incredible opportunity to meet a team and staff on the Giro d’Italia rest day, gathering some fantastic insight into the race and the team operations. You’ll chat with sport directors, team mechanics and the riders, if they’re not too leg weary with 15 race days already in the legs! Be sure to pack your camera and have your questions ready.

On conclusion, we will transfer back to Treviso where the evening will be at your leisure to relax and unwind or explore our humming surroundings.

This morning, following breakfast, while our riders set out on bikes, you’ll be off on your own adventure into the charming centre of Treviso on your own guided city experience.

The city, well known for its Venice-like ‘canal-lined’ streets, gorgeous cobbles alleyways, city walls and many historic sites, is absolutely a morning well spent. Perhaps even an occasion to try out the Provence’s speciality of Tiramisu?!

On arrival back to the hotel, take some time to refresh and relax, before we regather to transfer to a pro team’s hotel to enjoy an exclusive Meet & Greet.

Here will mark an incredible opportunity to meet a team and staff on the Giro d’Italia rest day, gathering some fantastic insight into the race and the team operations. You’ll chat with sport directors, team mechanics and the riders, if they’re not too leg weary with 15 race days already in the legs! Be sure to pack your camera and have your questions ready.

Conquer Monte Grappa!

This morning, after breakfast and checkout, we will transfer to Bassano del Grappa to begin our ride for today…time to whip those climbing legs out of the bag as the iconic climb of Monte Grappa lies ahead!

The famous Italian ascent has featured in the Giro d’italia four times in its history. Renowned for its testing length and 9 varying routes up to its summit. At over 20km and climbing up to 1775m…we hope you’re up for a challenge! Bear in mind, you will be fully backed from start to finish, with our ride guides and follow vehicle, providing assistance and mechanical support where needed, never far out of sight.

Keep in mind while you’re making your way up its slopes, that it was once a prominent battle ground throughout the World War’s…perhaps a little added motivation to keep pushing on!

The panoramic views and feelings of elation atop will ensure the effort was well worth it…take some time to recover up top, grab a bite and check out the summit war memorial, before preparing to descend.

Post ride, we will transfer to our new hotel destination in Trento, arriving in time to watch the stage 16 finish together on TV.

Following a big day out, enjoy some time-out to refresh and relax, before we set off for some much deserved Prosecco tasting. The delightful sparkling wine, avidly produced in Trento, is a must-experience when in Italy!

A few toasts later and with a healthy glow on, we will then enjoy a group dinner to discuss the day’s adventures and Giro d’Italia predictions.

Conquer Monte Grappa!

May 26, 2020

This morning, after breakfast and checkout, we will transfer to Bassano del Grappa to begin our drive up the iconic climb of Monte Grappa.

The famous Italian ascent has featured in the Giro d’italia four times in its history. Renowned for its testing length and 9 varying routes up to its summit. At over 20km long and climbing up to 1775m – it’s a beauty!

As we ascend, take in the surreal views and keep in mind that it was once a prominent battle ground throughout the World War’s…you’ll notice the slopes of the climb remain dotted with historic trenches.

At the summit, take some time to explore the fascinating war memorial, and monuments that dominate the peak of the climb.

There will then be opportune to grab a bite before we make our way down the other side and transfer to our new hotel destination in Trento, arriving in time to watch the stage 16 finish together on TV.

Following a big day out, enjoy some time-out to refresh and relax, before we set off for some much deserved Prosecco tasting. The delightful sparkling wine, avidly produced in Trento, is a must-experience when in Italy!

Ride Monte Bondone on race day!

Today, get set for a big day out at the Giro d’Italia!

Enjoy a substantial breakfast before we head out on bikes along the undulating Stage 17 route…it’ll be all-go today for Giro d’Italia contenders as they face a testing four lengthy ascents across the stage’s 202km distance. With today marking the first of the final three summit finishes, we’re expecting serious fireworks as their legs will undoubtedly be growing increasingly weary and attacks continue to fly.

You’ll be setting out along the course, with the infamous Monte Bondone your key target of the day! At 21.5km in length and averaging 6.8%, you’ll be in for some fun! Motivation will be at an all-time high, as you tackle its slopes on ‘race day’, which means atmosphere will be ON as excited fans line the climb awaiting the race action to come. Bonus – you’ll assuredly be in for a cheer or two as you battle your way to the summit! Take it all in and remember that it’ll be you joining the sidelines, cheering wildly soon enough…

Following a valiant effort, we will set up roadside over a picnic lunch to prepare for the pros to come flying up the climb, seemingly effortlessly! The top of the Bondone comes at 116km into the stage, so safe to say, they’ll be needing all the support they can get. Get set to cheer in full force!

Concluding our fair share of Giro mountain madness, we will descend and cruise back to the hotel.

This evening will be at your leisure to explore the city of Trento or alternatively, unwind after a long day out at the Giro d’Italia. We are very centrally located, with plenty of great local, reputable restaurants within walking distance.

Ride the 48 switchback Stelvio Pass + Watch Stage 18 LIVE up its slopes!

Today is the day you dive into the Italian Alps to conquer the second highest mountain pass in Europe…the famous Passo dello Stelvio!

This morning, it’ll be an earlier start as we check-out and transfer 140km to the spectacular Stelvio! Fuel well ahead of transfer – today will be EPIC.

The visually stunning climb travels up to a whopping 2758m over 24.3km and with a steady average gradient of 7.4%. Most famous for its unique 48 switchback bends that can be counted down from its base. The earlier stages of the climb are hugged by lush Alpine trees, eventually leading you to a much more exposed final half, the summit now teasingly in sight; high above the countless bends that lie before it.

We’ll be setting out nice and early to ensure you have plenty of time to make you way up at your own pace, enjoying the surreal scenery as you go.

A test, yes – but an indescribable sense of satisfaction, achievement and elation will greet you at the top as you arrive a little weary, but ecstatic…A big bucket list climb, ticked!

The effort is done, and now it will be time to put some warm layers on and get amongst the lively atmosphere to await the pros as they courageously battle their way up in race mode. Today will undoubtedly prove another game-changing stage with many-a vertical metre to contest, including the epic Stelvio.

Once again, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch roadside, embracing the best of it up one of the world’s most famous climbs!

Following the action, we will transfer 60km to our overnight stop in Tirano. On arrival, check-in and freshen up before regathering for a group dinner to cheers to today’s epic!

Experience a Stage Start + Ride the Wall of Sormano!

Today, following breakfast and check-out we will transfer to Morbegno to see today’s Stage 19 Start with our host for the next few days, Ivan Basso!

Here, will make the prime occasion to enjoy the start line festivities, wander through the team buses to see your favourite riders ‘in the zone’ and embrace the humming pre-race atmosphere. Let Ivan guide you by his countless friends of the pro peloton, offering an insight into the stage and race.

You’ll then see the official stage start, before preparing for our afternoon ride led by Basso. This exclusive experience of riding in Ivan’s local region with the most stunning lake in Italy as your backdrop will be truly memorable.

Today you’ll be tackling the surrounding roads of Como, most famous to the one-day pro cycling monument, Il Lombardia.

Included along the 60km ride route will be the ‘Wall of Sormano’. Renowned for its steep gradients, averaging 15.2% and ramping up to 25% throughout its 2km course. Safe to assume, the legs and lungs will be burning, however keep-in-mind it’s a lot shorter than the climbs you’ve previously tackled this week!

From there, you’ll also have the gradual Civiglio to tackle, however a lot tamer and overlooking the picturesque blue waters of Lake Como.

Throughout the ride, we’l make a pitstop to enjoy a cappuccino and a well earned Cannoli – a divine Italian sweet treat!

On arrival to our new accommodation in Como, take some time to check-in and settle. This evening, Ivan will host a dinner with our group, offering some incredible stories of his two wins at the Giro and two podium finishes at the Tour de France among others.

The challenge for today being the iconic Madonna del Ghisallo, very well known within the cycling world – its summit, home to a small chapel, dedicated to the patron saint of cycling!

Here, we will take a breather and visit the cycling museum atop, full of incredible memorabilia and dedicated to the sports’ history.

We will then descend/transfer back to the shores of the dazzling Lake Como to enjoy a group lunch lakeside, while watching the penultimate Stage 20 drama unfold from TV coverage.

On return to our accommodation, this evening will be yours to hit the streets of Como for that much-deserved pizza, vino and gelato, or perhaps a relaxed lakeside dinner.

Today is the day we will see the 2020 Giro d’Italia champion crowned, rounded out superbly with a race against the clock through the city streets of Milan!

This morning, we will have an early check-out and breakfast before transferring to Milan, ready to ride. Luggage will travel ahead directly to our hotel, so be sure to pack a day-bag with essentials.

On arrival, we will prepare for a short, final ride around the outskirts of Milan and if opportunity presents itself, along the course itself. You will complete the ride at our centrally located hotel, with time to check-in and shower before we regather to set out to the finish.

Here, we’ll await the pros to fly in, closing out their credible 21 day effort across Italy! And last but not least, you’ll witness the leading contenders cross the line defeated or triumphant – this final test against the clock, ultimately deciding the 2020 champion! Will it be right down to the wire or will the leader clearly have it in the bag?!

Concluding the ceremony, we will visit our friends of the peloton at their team buses for a celebratory drink and pizza before transferring to our accommodation in the city centre.

On arrival back to the hotel, the Mummu Cycling team will assist you with packing bikes ahead of tomorrow’s departure.

This evening, we will regroup to enjoy a final, farewell group dinner. Cheers/Saluti to what we expect will have been an incredible Giro d’Italia adventure!
