This morning will be a slower start giving you the opportunity to explore Nantes. Nantes, a city on the Loire River in the Upper Brittany region of western France, has a long history as a port and industrial center. The castle is now a local history museum with multimedia exhibits, as well as a walkway atop its fortified ramparts.

We will then set off mid-morning to before jumping onto the official course to ride the final 50km of Stage 2 on closed roads hours before the peloton. Escorted by the ASO we will cross the finish line as a group and jump on podium for a photo before witnessing the excitement of the final kilometres as the riders sprint past us into the finish in La Roche-Sur-Yon. As part of this experience we will visit the TdF technical zone where you will see inside the organisation and meet with journalists and broadcasters.

After watching the podium presentations we will make our way back to our hotel in Nantes where you can relax before enjoying at on the town at your leisure.

July 10, 2018

After an early breakfast we will pack the bikes and drive to the Stage 4 starting town of La Baule, a summer beach resort surrounded by 8km of stunning beaches. We will enjoy a Tour de France history lesson this morning with La Baule being the host of the first ever TdF Departure Village in 1968 before the village was blown away by severe storms, hopefully we do not experience the same fate.

This experience is one to remember with crowds cheering as we are the last riders on course before the pros. We will enjoy the afternoon sipping champagne, beer and a picnic lunch roadside as we await the peloton to pass.

Take the opportunity for a rest back in Nantes tonight exploring the variety of restaurants and bars within walking distance of our hotel.
