Welcome to the Alps + Let's hit the Tour de France for Stage 8!

Welcome to the Alps and the start of what’s sure to be an action-packed week of Tour de France mountain-madness!

This morning, the Mummu Cycling team will meet you at Geneva airport at 10am before transferring you to our accommodation nestled within the stunning Aravis mountains at the premium chalet-style Hôtel Beauregard.

On arrival, check-in and then take some time to freshen up and settle in. Our team will soon assist with unpacking and fitting bikes to ensure you’re set up and raring to hit the surrounding mountains!

Following a light lunch and a welcome brief at the hotel, get ready to take your first dive right into the race as we set out on bikes at 14.30 to the stage finish in Le Grand Bornand, the same famous finish that saw current World Champion Julian Alaphilippe claim his first Tour de France stage victory in 2018!

The ride will be led by 17 x Tour de France rider, Stuart O’Grady, supported by the Mummu ride guides and vehicles where mechanical assistance will be on hand, and ride nutrition, water and electrolytes will be at the ready.

On arrival, you will then have the opportunity to ride against the race course, towards the Col de la Colombière, before turning back to settle in at the finish and await what will be an expected thrilling stage as the race travels over a mountainous route with a final blast up the Colombière and a swift descent into Le Grand Bornand.

Following your first real taste of TDF, enjoy the short ride or transfer back to the hotel. On return, take some time out to relax, before regathering for our opening night group welcome dinner. Cheers to what we’re sure will be a fabulous week through the almighty Alps!

Welcome to the Alps and the start of what’s sure to be an action-packed week of Tour de France mountain-madness!

This morning, the Mummu Cycling team will meet you at Geneva airport at 10am before transferring you to our accommodation nestled within the stunning Aravis mountains at the premium chalet-style Hôtel Beauregard.

On arrival, check-in and then take some time to freshen up and settle in.

Day 2

Ride off the Stage 9 start line and along the race route + Roadside stage viewing!

This morning, enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the hotel, then prepare for a big day out at the Tour de France!

We will then venture to the Stage 9 Start in Cluses where you will begin the ‘Ride Depart’ experience – an exclusive asset we are able to deliver as an Official Tour de France Tour Operator.

As you sit on the line waiting for our official start time, enjoy a moment to take it all in and its surreality – you’re well and truly within the race bubble now! Soon enough, our ride will begin along the racecourse, within the Tour de France race caravan, just hours ahead of the pros themselves! All on closed roads, you’ll be every other fans envy and will be feeling like a bit of a rockstar as you witness the incredible feeling of being applauded and cheered for by excited fans lining the streets in anticipation for the stage to come.

We will ride for approximately 50km along the course, finishing with the challenging Col des Saisies climb – 9.4km in length and averaging 6.2%. Game on!

The Mummu support team will then meet you at our roadside stage viewing set up for the day, where French brasseries’ and bars will be on course.

Now, it’ll be time to kick back and prepare to get your cheer on as the peloton will soon enough come flying by, showing us how it’s done to perfection.

Following some thrilling race viewing, we will ride or transfer back to the hotel where we’ll watch the stage finish together on TV at the hotel, over a cool beverage to toast to the stage winner and a great day out living it up at the Tour de France.

This evening will be at your leisure to explore the charming local town centre of La Clusaz, where there are a number of top bars and restaurants to choose from – or alternatively, relax and unwind at the hotel to prepare for another cracking day out tomorrow.

No rest for the wicked - the Alps are calling...

Today is the first rest day of the 2021 Tour de France. Rest assured though, there’ll be no resting the legs for you!

This morning, you’ll get your first real taste of the mountains as we set out from the hotel, following a good breakfast, on a long ride featuring the infamous Col de la Colombiere (from the other side – 17.3km and 1,127m) and the scenic Plateau des Glières with it’s gravel sections.

Pack your climbing legs and a bit of grit and determination! It won’t be a walk in the park, however we promise the insane views atop and the feeling of elation when you summit each climb will be well worth the effort endured.

Keep in mind that the Mummu ride guides and support van will be with our group at all times during rides, leading the way, providing mechanical assistance, nutrition, water, electrolytes and any additional support you may require out on the road, and we will run multiple ride groups at varying paces.

Following a solid morning out on the pedals, we will finish up with a group picnic lunch at a scenic point on route, before finishing a solid day in the mountains back at the hotel.

On return, enjoy the afternoon free to rest your legs and relax. The evening will be at your leisure hit the town of La Clusaz for our final night nestled in the mountains.

Today is the first rest day of the 2021 Tour de France, so it’s time to explore our beautiful surroundings!

Following a relaxed start to the morning and breakfast. We will then transfer to the picturesque Alpine old town of Annecy for a day of exploring. Rich in history, packed with cobbled streets, pastel-coloured houses and medieval buildings, including the famous Château d’Annecy and often referred to as ‘the Venice of the Alps’ due to its charming winding canals – it promises to be a day well spent!

To top, we’ll hit the famous Lake Annecy for a leisurely lunch over gorgeous lakeside views…

On return to the hotel, what remains of the afternoon and the evening will be yours free to relax and unwind, or hit the town of La Clusaz for our final night nestled in the mountains.

Day 4

Ride along the Stage 10 race route and across the finish line + Stand on the winner's podium!

This morning, following breakfast and checkout we will transfer to our ride start point along the Stage 10 race route from Albertville to Valence.

Today we’ll be riding the final 50km into the finish of what’s expected to be a fiercely fast sprint stage! The finish in Valence is well known for when the green machine, Peter Sagan won there in 2018. Can he do it again today? We’ll soon see!

On arrival to the finish, you’ll have the unique opportunity to cross the barriers at the Flamme Rouge to enjoy the final km on completely closed roads, right through to the finish line, where you can raise your fist in glory!

The celebrations won’t end there as you take a trip up to the champion’s podium. Strike your best pose for the cameras! From there, you’ll enjoy some time in the post-race winner’s interview zone, before settling in to enjoy a spot of lunch in Valence at your leisure, and then await the stage finish to come and what will likely be an electric sprint battle to the line. Bring on the action.

Following a lively afternoon at the Tour de France, we will transfer on to our new premium accommodation, nestled in the heart of Provence, within reach of the mighty Mont Ventoux.

This evening, we will enjoy a group dinner within the picturesque vineyards, toasting fine wine, telling tales from the day and talking all things Ventoux – on the mountain menu tomorrow!

Ride the iconic Mont Ventoux on Race Day + Lap it up at the Tour de France's greatest hospitality location!

Brace yourselves for a truly EPIC day out at the Tour de France! Today is the day that the iconic Mont Ventoux returns to the Tour where it belongs…

It’s been 5 years since its last appearance in the race, where Chris Froome oh so famously ‘ran’ up part of the climb. This year, it’s returning with a bang and we will be there to live it up to the max!

Fuel well at breakfast to prepare for a big effort to come. We will then transfer to our ride start point, where ‘the bald mountain’ will now tantalisingly loom in the distance.

The lengthy climb travels up to 1912m and is widely known throughout the cycling world as being a real physical challenge. Tough, yes but the elation and feeling atop will certainly make it all the more worth it. Bonus – it’s RACE DAY so the atmosphere will be on point as excited fans line the climb primed and ready for the stage action to unfold later day.

At the summit, take a moment to sit back and soak up the views and your effort, before enjoying the just as spectacular descent to our hospitality race viewing location for the day at the Tour de France’s most raved about, Relais Etape.

The hard work is done. Now it will be time to relax over a divine three course meal, paired with unlimited French wine as we watch the stage action from big screen entertainment, amidst star-studded company and await the peloton. By now, the atmosphere will be as lively as its gets, and we’ll be right amongst it. Prepare to be blown away as the pros gloriously battle it out twice up Ventoux and pass right by us in a valiant bid for stage honours in Malaucène.

After a huge afternoon spent lapping up the very best of the Tour de France, we will transfer back to our hotel. This evening will be yours free to relax, or explore our beautiful surroundings, where a range of reputable restaurants and bars are within close proximity.

This morning, following breakfast at the hotel, we will transfer to today’s Stage 12 Start in Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux where you will experience ‘Departure Village’ Tour de France hospitality, another asset we have privileged access to as an Official Tour Operator.

This access presents a unique occasion to see the riders within close proximity signing-on for the stage ahead, while enjoying the official Tour de France Departure Village festivities – Always full of atmosphere, entertainment and treats; ranging from local delicacies, to coffee and beverages…

Pending Covid-19 guidelines at the time, we may also have access to the team bus area where you’ll see riders undergo their pre-race rituals, warm-ups and routines ahead of the stage.

Once you’ve experienced the excitement of a Stage Start, it will be time to prepare for our scenic vineyard scattered ride back to the hotel along the Rhône river, situated in the world-famous wine region of Rhône. To treat ourselves, we’ll make a pitstop at a reputable winery along the way, the Châteauneuf-du-Pape to indulge in a tasting and a true French experience. Today’s ride will be at a relaxed pace, all about enjoying and closing out what we’re sure has been an amazing week at the Tour de France!
