Nice Soirée

Bonjour! Welcome to Nice and the start of your Tour de France final weekend experience.

Mid-morning, the Mummu Cycling team will meet you at Nice airport or train station to collect and transfer you to our premium accommodation at Hôtel Nice Riviera where we will be located for the tour’s duration. Ideally positioned, just a stone’s throw away from the stunning Promenade des Anglais!

On arrival take your time to check-in and settle. You will then have a free window to enjoy lunch at your leisure and explore our surrounds. Hôtel Nice Riviera is primly located right within the city centre, so options are plentiful and atmosphere will undoubtedly be abuzz as excited Tour de France fans congregate ahead of tomorrow’s stage.

Take a stroll to the nearby Vieille Ville, Nice’s vibrant old town lined with narrow cobbled streets and dotted with colourful buildings that enclose a wide array of shops, attractions and eateries where typical local dishes are easily sought out – try a Niçoise salad, some ratatouille or a trusty French crepe! Some other great options; the Cours Saleya Market, the Nice Cathedral, Musée Masséna and the nearby MAMAC contemporary art museum. Plenty to do and see if you’re up for it!

After spending some time getting to know the city, join us at the hotel bar where we will watch the Stage 19 finish together over drinks and nibbles, followed by a festive group welcome dinner joined by the legendary, Stuey O’Grady. Time to get the soirée started! 

Today’s the day! Tour de France here we come…

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning.

We will then transfer onto the Stage 20 course that includes a succession of four Hors Categorie climbs as the race travels from Nice and almost instantly starts climbing straight for the first ascent of the day, the Col de Braus. The stage today is short in distance at 126km, so we can expect fireworks from the gun!

In order to beat the peloton and ensure we reach the summit of Col de la Couillole in due course, we will head directly to Izoard finish line hospitality at the top of the final climb. As we transfer up, take in the incredible atmosphere as passionate fans will no doubt already be lining the entire mountain excitedly awaiting the afternoon’s action.

On arrival, it will be time to settle in for a day well spent; lapping up the best of the Tour de France as you’re treated to unlimited beverages and French canapés while watching the action dramatically unfold over big screen entertainment. The perfect way to gear up for what is highly anticipated to be an incredibly thrilling battle to the line for stage honours and after three weeks of racing, potentially race-decisive!

As we watch the stage winner cross the line in triumph mere metres away, it will be time to raise our flutes of French champagne and share a toast.

After a top afternoon soaking up the best of it, we will transfer back to the hotel. This evening will be at your leisure to relax and unwind or get amongst the buzzing city atmosphere.

After a relaxed start and breakfast this morning, we will make our way to Tour de France hospitality to settle in for a day well spent watching the best of the Stage 21 Time Trial!

Bonus: As today is a TT you will see every rider fly right by us in pursuit of stage honours, rounded out with the best in the business battling it out last for the prestigious Yellow Jersey. When not completely immersed in the live race action, you’ll be sipping on champagne taking in the incredible atmosphere on this historic Tour de France day.

As the first time in the Tour’s 111 years to finish in a location other than Paris, it’s certain to be quite the final showdown and you’ll be there to witness every bit of it. Cheers to that!

After a truly memorable afternoon, we will transfer back to the hotel where the evening will be yours free to enjoy the festivities.
