Ride Along the Stage 16 Race Route to the Finish in Nimes + Podium Time & Izoard Hospitality with Stuey!

July 16, 2024 / Difficulty
/ Distance 2 hours

Enjoy a delicious gourmet breakfast at our boutique accommodation this morning before kitting up to transfer to the Stage 16 race route that travels over a flat course from Gruissan to Nimes.

Today marks a special day in this year’s Tour as the final sprint opportunity of the race, where in a normal year there would always be one last shot in Paris. This means today’s race will be the last opportunity of Mark Cavendish’s extensive career to take the TDF stage victory record! He currently sits in first equal with fellow legend, Eddy Merckx and decided to postpone his 2023 retirement plans to give it one more crack. Safe to see he’ll be hungrier than ever! Who’s backing him to take honours up against the dominant Jasper Philipsen? We are!

After a short transfer we will arrive at our ride start point of the day along the race route. You will then be joined by the legendary, Stuart O’Grady who will lead the way along the closing phase of the course, through to the finish in Nimes. Enjoy the atmosphere as you cruise along the same roads the pros will fly along in just a few hours time. Excited fans will no doubt be covering the streets, chanting allez’s your way as they await the action. The perfect motivation to glide your way into Nimes and scope out what should be an incredibly quick finale. At 1km to go, you will have the exclusive opportunity to cross the barriers and ride right across the finish line – celebrations all round! Top that, with a trip to the stage winner’s podium where you’ll have your moment in the spotlight.

It will then be time to settle in to finish line hospitality that will have you positioned right across from the line within striking distance to all the action! Kick back and unwind over unlimited beverages, canapés and big screen entertainment before settling in for a truly thrilling, potentially history-making finale!

After an exciting dose of live race viewing, we will transfer back to the hotel. The evening will be at your leisure to enjoy dinner in your own time and explore Grignan.
