The Bilbao > Pyrenees experience will give you the best of both worlds as you experience the madness of the first 2 stages in Bilbao and cross over into the Pyrenees while following the pros as they get ready for some unforgiving mountain stages. We’ll also tackle the famous Tourmalet and witness the pros battle it up the climb roadside. Welcome to Bilbao!

Welcome to Bilbao and the start of your Bilbao to Pyrenees experience!

The Mummu team will greet you this morning at Bilbao airport or train station before transferring you to our premium accommodation right in the heart of the humming Bilbao.

On arrival, check-in and take some time to settle before meeting the Mummu staff in our allocated bike room who will give a short welcome brief and then assist with fitting and assembling bikes ahead of this week adventures.

Afterwards, grab a spot of lunch and explore our surrounds. This afternoon, enjoy your first taste of the TDF madness and take the opportunity to watch the finish of stage 1, right in the heart of Bilbao!

On arrival back to the hotel, enjoy some time to relax and unwind before meeting for this evening’s group welcome dinner, providing a great chance to get to know one another and toast to what we are sure will be a memorable week taking in the best of the Tour de France!

After dinner we will take a twilight walk around the world renowned Guggenheim Museum.

Welcome to Bilbao!

July 1, 2023

Welcome to Bilbao and the start of your Grand Départ experience!

The Mummu team will greet you this morning at Bilbao airport or train station before transferring you to our premium accommodation right in the heart of the humming Bilbao.

On arrival, check-in and take some time to settle before meeting the Mummu staff in our allocated bike room who will give a short welcome brief and then assist with fitting and assembling bikes ahead of this afternoon’s warm-up spin.

Afterwards, grab a spot of lunch and explore our surrounds. This afternoon, enjoy your first taste of the TDF madness and take the opportunity to watch the finish of stage 1, right in the heart of Bilboa!

On arrival back to the hotel, enjoy some time to relax and unwind before meeting for this evening’s group welcome dinner, providing a great chance to get to know one another and toast to what we are sure will be a memorable week taking in the best of the Tour de France!

Day 2

Stand on the TDF Podium and Watch the Stage 2 Finish LIVE!

July 2, 2023 / Difficulty

Stage 2 of the TDF and it’s going to be an epic one!

This morning enjoy a gourmet breakfast at the hotel before a short transfer to our ride starting point along the Stage route. You will be guided along the final phase of the course into the Jaizkibel climb. The staple climb at the Clásica de San Sebastián is 6.9 kilometres long and averages 6.2%, which is a biased statistic as there is a false flat kilometre halfway. At the Jaizkibel there are 17 kilometres remaining. The first half goes down, the second is as good as flat. All rides will be supported by our ride guides and follow vehicles, so assistance will never be far out of sight!

When you reach the Flamme Rouge at 1km to go, you will have the exclusive opportunity to cross the barriers and ride right up to the finish! This is an incredible experience that we are able to share with our guests as an Official Tour Operator of the race. Enjoy every minute, then wait at the top to have your picture taken.

The good times will keep coming as you will then take a trip to the Stage winner’s podium. Strike your best pose for the cameras! Afterwards, there will be time to change and freshen up before settling into soak up the TDF finish line atmosphere and watch the stage finish roadside.

Following what we expect will be a jaw dropping finish, we will transfer back to the hotel. This evening will be your’s to relax, put your feet up and enjoy dinner at leisure!

This morning following a breakfast you will be hopping in the vans for an exclusive opportunity to drive along the closed roads of stage 2 .

When you reach the Flamme Rouge at 1km to go, you will have the exclusive opportunity to cross the barriers and walk across the finish line! This is an incredible experience that we are able to share with our guests as an Official Tour Operator of the race. Enjoy every minute, then wait at the top to have your picture taken.

The good times will keep coming as you will then take a trip to the Stage winner’s podium. Strike your best pose for the cameras! Afterwards, there will be time to change and freshen up before settling into soak up the TDF finish line atmosphere and watch the stage finish roadside.

Following what we expect will be a jaw dropping finish, we will transfer back to the hotel. This evening will be your’s to relax, put your feet up and enjoy dinner at leisure!

Stage 3 Departure Village Hospitality

After breakfast and checking out of the hotel, this morning we will transfer to the Stage 3 start in Amorebieta where you will experience ‘Departure Village’ Tour de France hospitality – Another asset we have privileged access to as an Official Tour Operator.

Stage 3 Departure Village Hospitality

Ride off the Official Stage 4 Start Line!

This morning, following breakfast it will be time to kit up. We will have a short ride to the start of stage 4 start in Dax.

On arrival to the start of stage 4, we will commence a  a 2.5 hour ride along the race route. Today you will have the incredible opportunity to ride off the Official Stage start line, on closed roads and within the actual race caravan, just hours ahead of the pros! This is another exclusive Official Tour Operator experience that truly allows you to step right inside the race bubble.

From km 0, expect to be wildly applauded by excited fans at the start line and along the Stage route. Take it all in and imagine yourself racing in the world’s biggest bike race!

Following a memorable ride, we will make a pitstop roadside along the course where the Mummu Marquee will await with cool beverages and a picnic lunch to replenish your efforts and allow some time to relax before the race comes flying by. Get your cheer on for your favourite riders and take note of the sheer speed they’re travelling at!

After some exciting race viewing, we will then continue the ride, with a short one back to the hotel.

This evening, there will be yours to relax and enjoy dinner at leisure.

Ride off the Official Stage 4 Start Line!

This morning, following breakfast it will be time to kit up. We will have a short drive to the start of stage 4 start in Dax.

Today you will have the opportunity to drive off the Official Stage start line, on closed roads and within the actual race caravan just hours ahead of the pros! This is another exclusive Official Tour Operator experience that truly allows you to step right inside the race bubble

From km 0, expect to be cheered on by excited fans at the start line and along the Stage route. Wind the windows down and take it all in!

After approximately 50km, we will make a pitstop roadside along the course where the Mummu Marquee will await with cool beverages and a picnic lunch to allow some time to enjoy a bite and relax before the race comes flying by. Day 5

Welcome to the Pyrenees, Enjoy VIP Izoard Hospitality!

This morning, following an early  breakfast and checkout we will transfer to the Pyrenees! Make sure you have a good breakfast to fuel the body this morning as you have a big ride on the cards today.

Following a transfer to our ride starting point along the Stage route, you will be guided along the final phase of the course up Col de Soudet which is a solid 21km at 5.6% gradient then followed by Col de Marie Blanque which is 9.2km in length at 7.7% gradient. On arrival to the climbs, you will be able to ride it at your own pace, ensuring you enjoy every minute of atmosphere as you pedal up alongside thousands of fans lining the climb awaiting the stage finish to come.

After the climbing you will then decend down towards the finish. All rides will be supported by our ride guides and follow vehicles, so assistance will never be far out of sight!

When you reach the Flamme Rouge at 1km to go, you will have the exclusive opportunity to cross the barriers and ride right up to the finish! This is an incredible experience that we are able to share with our guests as an Official Tour Operator of the race. Enjoy every minute, then wait at the top to have your picture taken.

Tourmalet!

This morning, enjoy a nutritious breakfast at the hotel before preparing for another solid day of climbing in the pyrenees. Today’s ride along the Stage 6 mountainous route to the iconic Tourmelet!

The Tourmelet consists of 17km at 7.3% gradient, and you’ll be riding it on RACE DAY – so expect great atmosphere and support as you make your way up. The Tourmalet is the most prominently raced climb in Tour de France history and an absolute must to tick off your bucket list. The Mummu support vehicles will never be far behind offering mechanical assistance and sustenance to keep you fuelled.

After approx 3 hours of riding we will stop off at the Mummu Marquee to settle in for some mountain roadside viewing. Replenish your efforts over a picnic lunch while you await the peloton, then get set to join the lines of fans as they ride right by us at unbelievable speeds.

After some live mountain stage viewing, there will be the option to ride or transfer back to Lourdes where we will watch the Stage finish together over a deserved beverage at the hotel, rounding out another great day on tour.

The evening we will have a farewell dinner to share stories and toast to what has been a fabulous week following the 2023 Tour de France.

Tourmalet!

This classic climb of the Pyrenees is17km long at 7.3% gradient – it will be the second hurdle of the day for the pros who face a very demanding stage through the Pyrenees.

We will stop off at the Mummu Marquee to settle in for some mountain roadside viewing. Relax over a picnic lunch while you await the peloton, then get set to join the lines of fans as they ride right by us at unbelievable speeds.

After some live mountain stage viewing, we will transfer back to Lourdes where we will watch the Stage finish together over a deserved beverage at the hotel, rounding out another great day on tour.

The evening we will have a farewell dinner to share stories and toast to what has been a fabulous week following the 2023 Tour de France.
