Day 1
Welcome to Spain!
This morning the Mummu Cycling team will meet you at Bilbao airport before transferring to our premium inner city accomodation where we will be conveniently based for the next 5 nights.
On arrival, take some time to check-in and settle before meeting the Mummu team in our allocated bike room for a welcome brief. Our staff will then assist with setting up and assembling bikes so you’re all set to go for this afternoon’s warm-up spin!
Once dialled and ready to go, take a moment to grab a spot of lunch downtown at your leisure before regathering mid afternoon for ride time.
Today’s ride will be all about spinning the legs post travel, getting to know one another and enjoying the stunning surrounding roads of Bilbao and the Basque Country. Guided by our expert ride guides and backed by our support crew, you will be in the best of hands!
This evening there will be a group welcome dinner where we will get acquainted with Bilbao’s incredible gastronomy, vino tinto in hand if you please!

Day 1
Welcome to Spain!
This morning the Mummu Cycling team will meet you at Bilbao airport before transferring to our premium inner city accommodation where we will be conveniently based for the next 5 nights.
On arrival, take some time to check-in and settle before meeting the Mummu team in our allocated bike room for a welcome brief.
The afternoon will then be yours free to enjoy lunch at your leisure downtown and to start to explore the vibrant Bilbao and all it has to offer. A hub for architecture and design and home to the famous Guggenheim Museum, there is plenty to see and do.
This evening there will be a group welcome dinner where we will get acquainted with Bilbao’s incredible gastronomy, vino tinto in hand if you please!

Day 2
Ride Along the Stage 17 Race Route & Watch Roadside up the Alto del Caracol
Enjoy a substantial breakfast at the hotel this morning before kitting up and meeting in the lobby ready to transfer (approximately 1 hour) to today’s ride start point along the Stage 17 race route at Santa María de Cayón.
Here, you will get your first real taste of La Vuelta madness as you ride for several hours along the mountainous route just hours ahead of the pros themselves. Embrace the incredible atmosphere as excited fans line the roads in cheer shouting out ‘vamos’ as you pass! Today’s ride will include two climbs offering up the ideal opportunity for you to find your climbing legs and lap up the mountain magic along the course.
*Keep in mind that today and on all rides, the Mummu support vehicle will never be far out of sight offering up assistance where needed and carrying ride nutrition, electrolytes and water when required out on the road.
Your first test of the day will be the Alto de La Estranguada. 5.5km in length with a leg zapping average gradient of 9.1%…there’s nothing quite like diving right into the deep end! Time to regroup and refuel at the summit before enjoying the deserved swift descent that will roll into the Alto del Caracol. A much tamer 5.6% 10km climb that will have your legs breathing a small sigh of relief as you glide your way up its slopes. The Mummu marquee will be set up at a key point up the climb where cool beverages and a delicious picnic lunch will be awaiting your arrival. Time to settle in, replenish your efforts and await the race action to come!
The pros will soon dance by, game faces on as contenders battle it out to the top. Prepare to get your cheer on as your favourite riders storm right by us at formidable speeds.
Following a fantastic dose of live race viewing, we will transfer back to the hotel. This evening will be yours free to explore Bilbao and its exceptional selection of bars and restaurants.

Day 2
Ride Along the Stage 17 Race Route & Watch Roadside up the Alto del Caracol
Enjoy a good breakfast at the hotel this morning before meeting in the lobby ready to transfer to our viewing point along the mountainous Stage 17 race route up the Alto del Caracol.
Prepare to be amazed as we drive over mesmeric Cantabrian terrain, atmosphere at its greatest as passionate fans line the course awaiting the action to come. The Mummu marquee will be set up at a key point up the climb where cool beverages and a delicious picnic lunch will be awaiting your arrival. Time to relax and settle in for an afternoon well spent watching the Vuelta live!

Day 3
Ride the Puerto Herrera Along the Stage 18 Race Route & Watch the Finish Roadside in Maeztu
After a good breakfast this morning, get prepared for a transfer to our ride start point along the Stage 18 race route nearing the base of the Puerto Herrera – a category one climb that will be your first and only big climb test of the day.
Once ready to roll, our ride guides will lead the way to the slopes of the 7.2km ascent that averages a fairly gentle 4.96%. Time to enjoy the race day atmosphere and the picturesque scenery as you re-find your climbing legs and hopefully float your way on up!
After regrouping at the top, we will continue along the race route right through to the finish in Maeztu, located in the breathtaking Izki Natural Park. Take a moment to embrace our beautiful surrounds before settling in over a picnic lunch at the finish where you will soon watch your first LIVE stage finish roadside right amongst the thick of the atmosphere.
Following what we expect will be a thrilling afternoon of spectating, we will transfer you back to Bilbao. The evening will be at your leisure to get out and explore the vibrant city or put your feet up, relax and unwind after a big day out.

Day 3
Ride the Puerto Herrera Along the Stage 18 Race Route & Watch the Finish Roadside in Maeztu
After a good breakfast this morning and a ‘cafe con leche’ or two, we will transfer you along the incredibly scenic Stage 18 race route, up and over the key climb of the day – the Puerto Herrera and onto the finish in Maeztu, located in the breathtaking Izki Natural Park. Take a moment to embrace our beautiful surrounds before settling in over a picnic lunch at the finish where you will soon watch your first LIVE stage finish roadside right amongst the thick of the atmosphere.
Following what we expect will be a thrilling afternoon of spectating, we will transfer you back to Bilbao. The evening will be at your leisure to get out and explore the vibrant city or put your feet up, relax and unwind after a big day out.

Day 4
Meet Some of the Sports Biggest Names at the Stage 19 Official Departure Village with André Greipel
This morning following a yummy breakfast we will transfer (1 hour 30) to the Stage 19 start in Logrono.
Today we will be hosted by André Greipel! He will be leading the way through the Official La Vuelta Departure Village – a unique experience exclusive to select tour operators of the race. The Departure Village is a buzzing area that surrounds the official podium where the riders sign on for the stage, packed with atmosphere, entertainment and an array of local treats and beverages to choose from while soaking it all up. Neighbouring the village is the team bus zone where the pros tentatively prepare ahead of sign on.
We will have you right there in the thick of it to lap up the Departure Village festivities, and if you stick with your host – André, it’s guaranteed you will run into a number of big names as he catches up with old teammates and colleagues, introducing you to some of the sports best as he goes!
After watching the peloton depart for the stage, we will transfer to our ride start point en route back to Bilbao. Tuck in to a picnic lunch to fuel up ahead of today’s 2.5 hour ride that travels over idyllic rolling Basque countryside and should have you arriving back at the hotel in time to watch the finish on TV together with a deserved beverage in hand. Cheers all round to what we expect has been a great afternoon out.
This evening will be yours free to continue exploring or kick back and relax.

Day 4
Meet Some of the Sports Biggest Names at the Stage 19 Official Departure Village with André Greipel
This morning following a yummy breakfast we will transfer (1 hour 30) to the Stage 19 start in Logrono.

After watching the peloton depart for the stage, there will be time to relax over a picnic lunch and explore the beautiful Logrono that lies among the world-famous vineyards of La Rioja. The ideal opportunity to enjoy a taste of northern Spain as its old town offers a packed line-up of reputable tapas bars where classic pintxos and local red wine are aplenty.
Following a spot of sightseeing and tapas sampling, we will transfer you back to the hotel where the evening will be yours free to continue exploring or kick back and relax.

Day 5
Watch the Final Mountain Battle up Picón Blanco From VIP Hospitality with André Greipel
Today is destined to be one of the greatest stages of La Vuelta 2024. It’s the final mountain battle and a high altitude finish up the iconic, brutally tough, Picón Blanco awaits. Get your climbing legs on as this morning you’ll be tackling it ahead of the pros!
Following breakfast at the hotel, we will transfer to our ride start point of the day along the final phase of the challenging, climb crazy Stage 20 race route.
Once kitted up and ready to roll, follow André as he leads the way along the course en route to the final climb. At the base, you will have free reign to take the climb as hard or as gently as you so desire. One thing you must do is appreciate and take in the epic atmosphere. As the final mountain stage of this year’s Vuelta, fans will be out in full force cheering you on as you grind your way up the taxing 8.3km climb that averages a cruel 9.1%!
All worth the effort as the final climb of our trip and the good times that await at the summit…today you’ll be able to ride right across the official stage finish line before making your way to the stage winner’s podium for a celebratory snap or two and some time in the spotlight. Topped by watching the thrill of the penultimate stage from summit finish VIP hospitality. It doesn’t get much better than kicking back post ride from the best seat in the house, treated to canapés and beverages while watching the action unfold over big screen entertainment. You’ll then witness the most exciting of finishes from an incredible viewing position directly across from the finish line itself. Prepare to be wowed as the leaders fight it out for honours and crucial seconds as they battle for Red!
Following an afternoon well spent, we will transfer back to Bilbao. This evening there will be a group farewell dinner with André to share memories from the week and raise our glasses to what we trust has been a fantastic tour with one final day of action yet to come.

Day 5

Day 6
Watch the Final Time Trial in Madrid From Hospitality!
This morning, following breakfast and checkout we will transfer to the Bilbao train station and take the high speed train right through to the capital of Madrid for the final showdown.
The train time is 4.5 hours, so have a good book handy! On arrival, we will make our way to our centrally located premium accommodation just a stone’s throw from the final stage’s Time Trial course.
Enjoy some time out to relax post travel and settle in to your new surrounds.
This afternoon, we will regroup in the hotel lobby and then take a short walk to Stage 21 VIP hospitality. Located at a key point along the Time Trial route, you will be perfectly positioned to take in the best of the final race against the clock. As today is a TT, you will be able to see every competitor zip right by us with arms reach as you relax over drinks and local delicacies.
Once the stage comes to a close, there will be opportunity to see the 2024 champion crowned as he makes his way to the podium.
The remainder of the evening will be yours free to get amongst the post-race festivities and explore the incredible Madrid.
