Conquer Iconic Italian Climbs + Enjoy a Prosecco tasting

May 24, 2024 / Difficulty
/ Distance 4 hours

Fuel well at breakfast this morning as today will be all about time on the bike as we take a step away from the race to get some of our own km’s in.

Once all guests have checked out, we will transfer 1 hour to our next 4* accommodation in the centre of Valdobbiadene, Hotel Diana. Located in the heart of the famous wine-making region of Treviso and its prized Prosecco. Something to look forward to post-ride!

Once checked in, get set for a big ride adventure from the hotel where we will be cruising out of town to conquer a beautiful loop that will include several iconic climbs, including a total of over 1700m of elevation! First up will be the Passo Praderadego; 8.3km in distance and with an 8% average, it won’t be easy, however its unique forest-lined landscape and the elation you will feel at its summit will make every bit of suffering well worth it. On arrival to the base, you will be free to ride the climb as fast or as gently as you so desire. The Mummu guides and follow vehicle will be there every step of the way to offer encouragement and support where needed. You got this!

At the summit we will regroup, take breather and refuel before enjoying the rewarding rolling descent that follows. Soon enough, you will arrive at the next test of the day; the iconic Passo San Boldo – a truly exquisite climb, most famous for its unique hairpin turns. The 6km ascent includes 18 switchbacks, 6 of which are through tunnels. It’s truly special and a must-do when cycling in Italy.

By now, you have well and truly earned an Italian style lunch! Time to make a pitstop at a local restaurant where we will replenish efforts and discuss Giro stage predictions. Once content and energised to go again, we will begin the journey back to the hotel that rest assured will be mostly downhill/flat.

Following a huge effort on the bike, the afternoon and evening will be at your leisure to watch the end of the stage over that deserved glass of Prosecco at the hotel bar, put your feet up and chill, or explore Valdobbiadene.
