In 2020, the Alps will make a fiery reappearance to the final phase of the Tour de France, inevitably dishing out their fair share of attacks and with that some thrilling, race-deciding action. Our Alps to Paris Adventure will take you on an all encompassing journey to witness the sheer thrill of those final winning moments through the epic Alps, right onto the streets of the iconic Champs-Elysées.

Over 9 days, you’ll not only witness the world’s best cyclists LIVE in fierce battle mode, but experience the truly surreal Alpine scenery and tick off bucket list rides while you’re at it, including the almighty Alpe d’Huez. You’ll depart the mythical mountains in exchange for the city lights of Paris, to see the 2020 champion crowned, rounding out your adventure on an all-time high.

Day 1

Welcome to the Alps!

Welcome to the Alps and the start of a big Tour de France adventure ahead!

This morning, the Mummu Cycling team will meet you at Grenoble train station before transferring to your accommodation in the city centre, perfectly located at the foot of the French Alps.

On arrival, take some time to check-in and settle. Staff will then assist you with assembling and fitting bikes to prepare for this afternoon’s warm-up ride.

Take some time to relax and grab a bite, before we set out on a light ride along the city river to spin the legs out post travel, get used to your bikes and our beautiful surroundings!

We should be back in time to watch the Stage 15 action together over a cool beverage, before freshening up ahead of this evening’s group welcome dinner and cheers to what we expect will be a fantastic adventure from the Alps through to the final showdown in Paris.

Day 1

Welcome to the Alps!

July 12, 2020

Welcome to the Alps and the start of a big Tour de France adventure ahead!

This morning, the Mummu Cycling team will meet you at Grenoble train station before transferring to your accommodation in the city centre, perfectly located at the foot of the French Alps.

On arrival, take some time to check-in and freshen up. The afternoon will then be yours to explore the charming city centre and our humming surroundings, before settling in for some late afternoon Stage 15 action together over a cool beverage.

This evening, you will enjoy a group welcome dinner and cheers to what we expect will be a fantastic adventure from the Alps through to the final showdown in Paris!

Day 2

Tackle Alpe d'Huez!

July 13, 2020 / Difficulty
/ Distance 85km / 2300m

Today is the Tour de France’s final rest day…but rest assured, we’ll be doing quite the opposite as we set out to tackle the iconic slopes of Alpe d’huez!

Following a substantial breakfast, we will transfer to Vizille to begin today’s epic day out on the bike, including the legendary Tour de France-famous climb with its unique 21 switchback bends and covering 1120 metres of elevation in 14 kilometres. The climb is a real icon and not only offers a great challenge and opportunity to tick off a bucket list col, but offers truly surreal views and scenery the whole way up. Be sure to take a moment to appreciate the view, albeit through gritted teeth!

Concluding a valiant effort to the summit, take some time to explore the buzzing village atop, grab a bite of lunch and check-out the many boutiques packed with Tour de France memorabilia and merchandise.

We will then transfer back to Grenoble where the evening will be at your leisure. Perhaps time to hit the town and explore the city or relax following a big day out pedalling circles!

Day 2

Tackle Alpe d'Huez!

July 13, 2020

Today is the Tour de France’s final rest day…so we’ll be taking the day to visit the legendary Tour de France-famous climb of Alpe d’huez!

Following breakfast, we will transfer to the iconic climb and travel up its unique 21 switchback bends, covering 1120 metres of elevation in 14 kilometres. Be sure to appreciate the incredibly surreal, picturesque views as you ascend!

On arrival to the summit, take some time to explore the buzzing village atop, grab a bite of lunch and check-out the many boutiques packed with Tour de France memorabilia and merchandise.

We will then transfer back to Grenoble where the evening will be at your leisure. Perhaps time to hit the town and explore the city or relax & kick back ahead of tomorrow’s busy schedule!

Villard de Lans Stage 16 Finish!

Today it’s bound to be all-go at the Tour de France and Stage 16 as the race travels through the heart of the Alps on Bastille Day. Expect sensational atmosphere and lively race action and get ready to be right in the thick of it!

Enjoy a decent breakfast this morning, before rolling out on bikes from the hotel with a very challenging ride on the radar and your fair share of ascending…

Today’s biggest challenge will be the 14.6km climb of La Montée de Saint-Nizier-du-Moucherotte that averages a steady 6.5% and lies a mere 20km ahead of the Stage 16 finish in Villard-de-Lans, proving a crucial part of today’s stage. It’s hereby safe to assume that Tour de France mountain madness will be at fever pitch – be sure to take it all in as you climb your way up!

Today’s ride will conclude at at the finish line, where we will settle in at official Tour de France finish-line hospitality for the soon to come Stage 16 action. Here, you’ll be sitting back over French canapés and unlimited beverages, watching the drama unfold over big-screen entertainment before awaiting an assured nail-biting fight to the line and witnessing it all LIVE! Get prepared to witness live Tour de France racing at its very best, in the heart of the spectacular Alps…

Following some thrilling spectating, we will transfer back to Grenoble where the evening will be yours to enjoy.

Day 4

Exclusive Ride Depart off the Stage 17 start-line + Ride along the race route!

July 15, 2020 / Difficulty
/ Distance 65km / 2300m

Following breakfast and checkout, we will set out to the Start, located right near our hotel in Grenoble central.  From there, you’ll be enjoying the truly surreal, ‘Ride Depart’ experience, an exclusive experience we are able to deliver as an Official Tour Operator of the Tour de France.

Here, you will ride off the stage start line along the race route, within the Tour de France race caravan and just hours ahead of the pros themselves! All on closed roads, you’ll be every other fans envy and will no doubt be feeling pretty special as you witness the incredible feeling of being applauded and cheered for by excited fans lining the streets in excited anticipation for the stage to come.

We will ride approximately 65km along the course, before setting up roadside for a picnic lunch while we await the pros to blitz by and show us how it’s done. Gear up to get your cheer on in full force!

After a hearty burst of lively race action, we will transfer to our next destination in Annecy. This evening, we’ll enjoy a group dinner to toast to another day lapping up the best of the Tour de France.

Exclusive Ride Depart off the Stage 17 start-line + Ride along the race route!

Following breakfast and checkout, we will set out to the Stage 17 Start, located right near our hotel in Grenoble central.

Here,  you’ll have the opportunity to explore the start area and the lively pre-stage atmosphere! Following the offical start, we will transfer to our next hotel destination in Annecy.

This afternoon will be yours to explore our charming new surroundings, before regathering for this evenings group dinner.

Mountain madness on Stage 18!

July 16, 2020 / Difficulty
/ Distance 52km / 1800m

Today’s Stage 18 is sure to be an EPIC with some serious climbing on the radar!

This morning, you will enjoy a slightly later start before transferring to our ride start along the Stage route, just over 50km out from the finish in La Roche-sur-Foron.

The greatest test of the stage lies on the slopes of the Montée du Plateau des Glières – and yes, you’ll be tackling it! 6km in length, and an incredibly tedious 11.2% average gradient, this one is certainly not for the faint hearted…and if that’s not enough of a challenge, the final 2km travel along a dust/gravel road, just to really throw some added excitement into the mix! It will undoubtedly be a real test,  yet an incredible opportunity to ride such an exciting part of the stage, just hours ahead of the pros themselves.

Here we will enjoy our prepared roadside viewing including a picnic lunch and drinks as we cheer on the pros in the best position possible. The GC should be shakenen up today and you will be there live to witness it!

Following a huge day out at the Tour de France, we will return to Annecy where the evening will be yours to explore or unwind.

Mountain madness on Stage 18!

July 16, 2020

Today’s Stage 18 is sure to be an EPIC with some serious climbing on the radar for the pros!

This morning, you will enjoy a slightly later start before driving on course to the Montée du Plateau des Glières where you will enjoy our prepared roadside viewing including a picnic lunch and drinks as we cheer on the pros in the best position possible. The GC should be shakenen up today and you will be there live to witness it!

Following a huge day out at the Tour de France, we will return to Annecy where the evening will be yours to explore or unwind.

Ride Ride Ride

July 17, 2020 / Difficulty
/ Distance 90-110km / 2000m (+/-)

Today is the day the opportunity will be there to ride to your hearts content as we go head to head with the Alps on a ride-focussed day…if you have anything left in those legs, now if your chance to give them their last big crack in the mountains!

We have several different ride options routed depending on level and preferences of the group…either way, expect a big day of conquering bucket list Alps cols – Col de la Croix Fry, or Col de la Madeleine tickle your fancy? If you’re feeling a little exhausted, there will also be the option to enjoy a shorter, flatter lake ride.

Following breakfast, today’s ride will commence from the hotel and will be fully supported for its entirety, so do not fear, assistance will always be near!

On arrival back to the hotel, we will watch the Stage 19 finish together over a well deserved cold one. Our team will then assist with packing bikes, before freshening up ahead of a group dinner this evening to share battle stories of today’s adventures in the mountains.

This morning, enjoy a relaxed start ahead of your own guided Annecy adventure!

The gorgeous Alpine town is often referred to as the ‘Venice of the Alps’ due to the river that passes through its charming old town, lined with cobbled streets and colourful, pastel houses.

A special day of exploring will be on the radar for you as our riding contingent set out for a big day on the bike.

In the afternoon, we will regroup to watch the Stage 19 finish together at the hotel over a cool beverage, ahead of this evening’s group dinner where we’ll sit down to share the day’s tales and anticipate what lies ahead for tomorrow’s penultimate stage!

Today, we will be hitting the road to the beautiful Paris to prepare for tomorrow’s spectacular Grand Finale!

Following breakfast and checkout, we will transfer to the Annecy train station before traveling via high-speed train into Paris to arrive early afternoon to our premium, centrally located accommodation at the AC Marriott Hotel Paris.

This leaves the afternoon free to kick back together to watch the penultimate Stage 20 Individual Time Trial together at the hotel or explore the stunning city; rich in culture, art, fashion and gastronomy…countless sights to see + hotspots to visit.

This evening, we will enjoy our last group dinner, where we’ll undoubtedly be toasting all round, sharing trip memories and Stage predictions for tomorrow’s Champs-Elysées final!

Following breakfast, we will begin the day with a bang and set off on the metro to enjoy a private city town bike tour. This is a fantastic way to explore the picturesque streets of Paris, its most famous sights and take the amazing history. On a Sunday summer morning, it doesn’t get much more idyllic!

Concluding the ride, lunch will be at your leisure before returning to the hotel to freshen up ahead of this afternoons race action. We will soon after regroup to transfer to to our incredible Grandstand seating location along the truly iconic Champs-Elysées.

Expect a nail-biting, chaotic sprint finish and some serious Tour de France celebrations, as the 2020 champion crosses the line in triumph and the sprinters go head-to-head in a valiant battle for glory.

Post Stage, the evening will be at your leisure to embrace the Tour de France festivities!
