Welcome to Bilbao and the start of your Grand Départ experience!

The Mummu team will greet you by 10am this morning at Bilbao airport or train station before transferring you to our premium accommodation right in the heart of the humming Bilbao.

On arrival, take some time to check-in and settle before meeting the Mummu staff in our allocated bike room for a welcome brief. We will then assist with bike assembly and fits ahead of this afternoon’s warm-up ride.

After, there be an opportunity to explore our surrounds and grab a spot of lunch at your leisure before meeting the crew ready for today’s short warm up ride around town.

Post ride, freshen up and relax before regathering for the Official team’s presentation where you will see the world’s best cyclists take the stage to celebrate the opening of the 2023 Tour de France. Bring your cameras and enjoy the incredible pre-race atmosphere!

After the presentation, there will be a group welcome dinner to raise our glasses to what we are confident will be a fantastic trip watching the best of the Tour de France’s opening three stages.

While we await the 2023 Tour de France to get underway tomorrow, today will be all about exploring the best of Bilbao.

Enjoy a good breakfast at the hotel this morning before heading out to explore Bilbao – this is a great opportunity explore the stunning city, famous for its architecture and iconic buildings from the Neo-baroque theatre and Art nouveau train station to the eye-catching Guggenheim museum and its modern displays. Lunch will be at your leisure – perhaps this is a great time to try some of Bilbao’s famous gastronomy.

This afternoon we will be kitting up for a 2 hour ride along the beautiful Bilbao coastline. Along the ride route, we’ll make a short stop at a pro team’s hotel to get a behind the scenes look at what a typical team mechanic’s set up looks like. We’ll then continue our ride back to our hotel in town.

After a busy day, take some time to freshen up and the rest of the day and evening will be yours free to enjoy the buzzing city atmosphere and amazing gastronomy.

Today the Tour de France begins with a hilly 185km loop stage! It’s going to be hot and an absolute thrill to watch as the world’s best give it their all to claim the first Maillot Jaune of 2023.

This morning following breakfast, we be kitting up for a 2 hour ride where today you will have the incredible opportunity to ride off the Official Stage start line, on closed roads and within the actual race caravan, just hours ahead of the pros! This is an exclusive Official Tour Operator experience that truly allows you to step right inside the race bubble.

After the ride, there will be time to freshen up before making our way into VIP Izoard finish line hospitality where you will indulge in unlimited beverages and canapés while watching the Stage action over big screen entertainment. You will watch the riders come in hot for the finish line LIVE to see all the action unfold of who will win stage 1! Will it be a sprint finish, a breakaway or a solo rider coming in to claim the first Maillot Jaune?

Once you’ve seen the Stage winner crowned, we will head back to the hotel. This evening will be at your leisure to explore the vibrant city, where the atmosphere will no doubt be at its best celebrating Day 1 of the Tour de France.

This morning following a good re-fuel at breakfast you will be kitting up for a 2 hour ride. Today’s ride will see another opportunity to ride on the TDF closed roads, you’ll be every other fans envy and will be feeling like a bit of a rock star as you witness the incredible feeling of being applauded and cheered for by fans lining the streets in excited anticipation for the stage to come.

We will ride for several hours along the course along scenic rolling roads, including a few testing climbs. Following a top effort, you will arrive to our Mummu Marquee where there will be a picnic waiting for you with food and drinks to refuel and await for the peloton to approach to cheer your favourite riders on as they storm by showing us how it’s done!

After the rider’s have past, we will then transfer back to the hotel where the evening will be yours to enjoy dinner at leisure and explore Bilbao some more before our final full day tomorrow.

After breakfast this morning we will transfer to the Stage 3 start in Amorebieta where you will experience ‘Departure Village’ Tour de France hospitality – Another asset we have privileged access to as an Official Tour Operator.

Here, you’ll be able to kick back over local delicacies and enjoy the humming, excited pre-start atmosphere, while watching the riders step onto the stage for official sign-on, all surrounded by star studded company amidst former pros and big Le Tour names.

Following the excitement of watching the Stage start, we will transfer back to the hotel. After the transfer. We will watch the Stage finish together over a celebratory beer or beverage before meeting the Mummu staff in our bike room who will assist with packing up bikes ahead of tomorrow’s departure.

This evening, there will be a final group dinner to round out what we hope has been a memorable opening week at the Tour de France in Bilbao!
