The good times will keep rolling through the Alps as you continue to ride on cloud nine, seeing the Stage 18 finish from VIP hospitality after some podium time, back by watching a stage start from the official Departure Village alongside the legendary, Stuey O’Grady! Onto Nice we go for the historic final weekend of racing where you will once again absorb the best of it as the pros face their last mountain battle paired with stunning Côte d’Azur views, before one last race against the clock.

Welcome to France!

Welcome to France and the start of your Alps > Nice Adventure!

The Mummu Cycling team will meet you mid-morning at Grenoble airport before a short transfer to our 4* accommodation at the PoMo Hôtel located right in the heart of the Alps and just a stone’s throw from Grenoble city centre.

Once checked in and settled, meet the Mummu staff in our allocated bike room who will give a short welcome brief before assisting with bike set up and assembly. Take some time to then grab a bite of lunch at your leisure before kitting up to ride!

Today’s ride will be led by our experienced team of ride guides and backed by the Mummu support vehicle who will be with you out on the road for all rides across the trip offering mechanical assistance, ride nutrition, water and electrolytes where needed. Enjoy the stunning scenery as you are guided into the surrounding rolling countryside of Grenoble to spin the legs out post travel and gear up for some big days to come.

This evening there will be a group welcome dinner. Cheers to what we are confident is going to be an epic week on tour!

Welcome to France!

Welcome to France and the start of your Alps > Nice Adventure!

The Mummu Cycling team will meet you mid-morning at Grenoble airport before a short transfer to our 4* accommodation at the PoMo Hôtel located right in the heart of the Alps and just a stone’s throw from Grenoble city centre.

Once checked in and settled, meet the Mummu staff in our allocated bike room who will give a short welcome brief. You will then have a free window to enjoy lunch at your leisure, relax and enjoy the hotel facilities and get out to explore our surrounds.

Conquer the Iconic Alpe d'Huez

Treat yourself to a big breakie this morning as today you’re in for a solid day in the saddle conquering the iconic Alpe d’Huez – an absolute must ride in your life climb for all cycling fans! Today, it’s your time to shine…

Following check-out we will transfer to our ride start point in Bourg-d’Oisans where bikes will be unloaded while you get yourself set to climb. The Mummu guides will then lead the way to the base where you will have the option to cruise at your own pace – whether that be pushing on at the head of the pack chasing Strava segments, or sitting back to settle into your own rhythm – the choice is yours. The main thing is that you enjoy the challenge and embrace this opportunity to ride up an Alps legend and every one of its mythical 21 bends!

After 14km and 1,120m of climbing you’ll undoubtedly be buzzing with elation, any suffering swiftly forgotten as you appreciate the exceptional views on display and give yourself a pat on the back for accomplishing what you set out to.

Take a a breather over a cold drink while we regroup atop before descending down to the famous Alpe d’Huez village where you will have the opportunity to explore the small mountain town packed with cafes and cycling memorabilia. Enjoy lunch at your leisure before gearing up for the well earned descent back down the mountain that should have you grinning from ear to ear as you glide around each hairpin bend with ease.

We will then transfer on to our next cosy mountain chalet accommodation in the heart of the captivating Southern Alps, at Hôtel – Domaine de l’Adoux. Located a mere 800m from the Montclar ski resort and just next door to the stunning Serre-Ponçon lake, it’s safe to safe – scenery is on point!

This evening there will be a group dinner to reminisce on the day’s Alpe d’Huez efforts and chat all things TDF ahead of tomorrow’s action.

Conquer the Iconic Alpe d'Huez

July 16, 2024

Treat yourself to a delicious breakfast at the hotel this morning before checking out.

We will then transfer to the iconic Alpe d’huez – an absolute top of the bucket list climb that today you will be visiting!

On arrival to the climb, be sure to enjoy the truly surreal views and scenery as we travel up the Alps legend and every one of its mythical 21 bends! At the top, while we await the riders there will be time to explore the Alp d’Huez summit village where there are a number of great cafes and cycling memorabilia stores.

Take your pick of cafes to enjoy lunch at your leisure before transferring on to our next cosy mountain chalet accommodation in the heart of the captivating Southern Alps, at Hôtel – Domaine de l’Adoux. Located a mere 800m from the Montclar ski resort and just next door to the stunning Serre-Ponçon lake, it’s safe to safe – scenery is on point

This evening there will be a group dinner to chat all things TDF ahead of tomorrow’s action.

Ride Along the Stage 17 Mountainous Route & Watch All the Action From Relais Etape Hospitality

The day has arrived that we’ll take our first step into the Tour de France circus and what better day to pick than a highly mountainous stage through the thick of the Southern Alps!

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel we will transfer to our ride start point along the Stage 17 race route that travels from Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux to the summit finish at the SuperDévoluy ski resort. Three big Hors Categorie climbs will be encountered by the pros throughout the day, ensuring fireworks from the get-go!

Today you will have the amazing opportunity to ride along part of the stage en route to the exclusive Relais Etape hospitality zone. (We will ideally ride one of the HC climbs on course, dependent on the location of the Relais Etape *TBC by the A.S.O in due course).

On arrival, there will be opportunity to change before stepping into the TDF bubble! The Relais Etape is an experience like no other, offering the ideal combination of race viewing and indulging. Throughout the day you will be treated to a decadent multi-course meal, paired with unlimited local wines and beverages. Enjoy all this while watching the best of the Stage 17 mountain action from a key point along the route. When not completely immersed in the race action on big screen entertainment, you’ll be sipping on fine French wines amidst star studded company embracing the party-like atmosphere the Relais Etape never ceases to deliver. Topped off by spending some time at the sidelines for some LIVE viewing as the pros blitz right by us within arms reach. Now’s your chance to cheer on your favourite riders!

After watching the stage draw to a likely spectacular close, we will transfer back to our hotel where the evening will be yours free to relax and enjoy the mountain serenity.

Ride Along the Mountainous Stage 18 Race Route + Podium Time & VIP Hospitality

Get your carbs in at breakfast this morning to fuel up for a big day out at Le Tour!

Following breakfast, we will transfer to the Stage 18 mountainous race route that ventures from Gap to Barcelonnette. Expect fireworks!

Today you will have the fantastic opportunity to ride along the final phase of the race route on a crucial closing week mountain stage. It doesn’t get much better for the avid fan, so lap up every km as you cruise along the course being cheered on by excited crowds of fans already out lining the streets bringing the atmosphere. 

Embrace that top of the world feeling as you approach the official finish line and enjoy the exclusive opportunity of riding through the barriers at the 1km to go mark, rolling right across the stage finish line, arms up if you please! The winning momentum goes on as you make your way to the podium to pose for some snaps and lap up your moment in the limelight.

After some podium time, change and freshen up before heading to VIP Izoard hospitality, primly located just metres from the line. Here you will be able to relax over unlimited beverages and French canapés while watching the action unfold over big screen entertainment as we excitedly await the finish to come and what should be a thrilling battle to the line. You’ll be right there to see it all just a stone’s throw away…brace yourself for something special!

After watching the excitement of a Tour de France stage finish, we will transfer back to the hotel where the evening will be at your leisure.

Fuel and caffeinate well this morning ahead of a big day out at Le Tour!

Following breakfast we will transfer to the Stage 18 mountainous race route that ventures from Gap to Barcelonnette. Expect fireworks!

Today you will have the fantastic opportunity to travel along the final phase of the race route on a key TDF mountain day. Soon enough, we will arrive at the finish in Barcelonnette where you will have the exclusive opportunity of walking across the stage finish line, arms up if you please! Enjoy a good breakfast this morning ahead of another big day soaking up the best of Le Tour!

Once fuelled and ready to roll, we will kick off our early morning ride from the hotel to Embrun where the Stage 19 start will take place.

Here you will be joined by the legendary Stuart O’Grady who raced a succession of 17 Tour de France’s throughout his extensive career and with that claimed multiple stage victories and wore the yellow jersey! Today Stuey will be guiding you through the Official Tour de France Departure Village – another unique experience we have the honour of delivering as a TDF Tour Operator. The Departure Village is a buzzing hospitality zone that surrounds the official podium where the riders sign on for the stage, packed with atmosphere, entertainment and an array of local treats and beverages to choose from while soaking it all up. Neighbouring the village is the team paddock where the pros busily prepare at their team buses ahead of sign on.

We will have you right there in the thick of it to lap up the Departure Village festivities, and if we’re lucky – catch the stars in action as they prepare. Stick with your host Stuey and we’re confident you will thanks to his countless connections in the sport.

After watching the excitement of a Tour de France stage start, it will be time to enjoy a packed lunch before we transfer to our next hotel.

We will transferring to the stunning Côte d’Azur and our accommodation for the remainder of the tour at the 4* Hôtel Nice Riviera, primly located within close walking distance to the vibrant old town and the famous Promenade des Anglais.

This evening will be yours free to take dinner in your own time and explore Nice.

Ride the Col de la Couillole, the Final Climb of the TDF 2024 + Watch the Mountain Action Roadside

July 20, 2024 / Difficulty

Today is the last mountain stage of the TDF 2024 and you’ll be there to catch all the summit finish action on Col de la Couillole!

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning. Then kit up to transfer to our ride start point along the Stage 20 route that includes a succession of four Hors Categorie climbs as the race travels from Nice and almost instantly starts climbing straight for the first ascent of the day, the Col de Braus. The stage is short in distance at 126km, so we can expect some serious moves from the gun!

Today you will be riding the final section of the course, including your last big challenge of the tour, also for the pros – the Col de la Couillole. 15.7km with a steady average gradient of 7.1%, it’s certain to be a test however as the final climb of this year’s Tour, atmosphere will be at its all-time greatest. Embrace it and all the cheers as you glide your way up!

Following one final nudge to the summit, we will cruise back down the mountain to our roadside viewing spot for the day where you can lap up the incredible atmosphere while enjoying some lunch and a deserved beverage or two.

In due time, the head of the race will hit the slopes of the climb and you’ll be primed and ready to spur on the world’s best as they fly past us ridden determination, the yellow jersey now in sight.

After the stage excitement, we will transfer back to Nice. Take some time to relax and put your feet up before regathering for our final group dinner. The perfect opportunity to sit back over a few wines and some divine local cuisine to reminisce on the day’s adventure and share predictions ahead of tomorrow’s finale. Cheers to that!
